Manchester - Software Architect - Salary £50k to £75K depending on experience - Space systems

Our client Is a leading provider of next generation satellite communications systems based on their innovative in house chipsets. They develop a line of satellite communication modems with Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Electronically Steered Multi Beam Antennas (ESMA) to some of the most advanced and exacting global standards. They are expert in all aspects of satellite communication and have full in-house development capabilities. They support delivery of the smallest VSATs and multi-beam electronically steered antenna arrays for a variety of mobile applications and services.

Your role is to lead on the design and technical coding standards, tools and platform selection for the company’s satellite ground systems. You will be experienced in architecting and implementing satellite protocols such as DVB-S/DVB-RCS. A background in satellite technology is desirable but not essential as additional training will be provided to acquaint you with the nuances of this highly specialised sector.

Main Duties:

+ Defining network communications systems (IP networking & routing) 

+ Object Oriented Design (OOD) and unit testing using C/C++

+ Lead responsibility for the writing of full technical code specifications

+ Working across multiple disciplines to achieve results

Skills and Experience Required: 
+ Expert in IP networks with embedded C/C++
