My client is a global Energy trading organisation who are urgently seeking a Senior Data Engineer initially on a 9 month contract basis.

Duties:

  • Work together with the Solution and Data Architect to design the next generation of data platforms.
  • Design and implement data solutions which supports high amounts- and velocity of data, supports future growth, use latest data technologies/techniques, is cloud supported and in-line with Shell's strategies.

Role

  • Candidate will be responsible for performing various security assessments, educating the business on the inherent risks, and providing meaningful hardening and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong focus on web-based and mobile application penetration tests, network penetration tests, logical security audits, and hands-on technical security evaluations and remediation advice. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to develop subject matter expertise or focused capabilities in the topics of application security, wireless security, or database and development security.

Skills

  • Able to Perform both Network & Web Application Penetration Testing Manually
  • Creative & Thorough Approach to Pen-Testing & Vulnerability Assessments
  • Hands-on experience with software security testing and common testing tools like Appscan, WebInspect, Fortify, etc
  • Experienced with tools such as Burp/Paros/Proxy tools, nmap, Nessus, Metasploit, Wireshark, Backtrack, Kali, SQL Ninja and various hacking tools.

You’ll be co-located with the team in London, working closely with our internal customers, using the lean start-up approach and ScrumBan to accelerate the development of the solution.

Your Responsibilities

  • Write clean, elegant and maintainable production-level code
  • Write tests for your own code and use test first approaches (TDD) to develop your code
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Work on data science and data engineering related programming tasks
  • Participate in ScrumBan Ceremonies (e.g. Standup, Retro, etc.) and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Self-organize (coordinate and allocate tasks) with other members of the cross-functional team (team size: 7), considering several constraints (priorities, technological restrictions, WIP, people’s availability, etc.) when picking tasks
  • Develop the flask (minimal JavaScript) front-end for the application
  • You will be expected to spend a significant portion of your time collaborating with customers and the PO developing features according to their needs, collaborating with other developers, occasionally preparing for and attending long workshops with our customers, contributing to discussions about strategy, processes, participating in discussions about choice of technology, etc.
