I’m working with a company based in East Birmingham who specialises in software for the recruitment industry, who are looking to bring on an Application Support Engineer to be the first point of contact for clients.

You will be dealing with incoming emails, then liaising with clients on issues, finding solutions or escalating them to the relevant teams within agreed SLAs. Ideally, you will have experience with a helpdesk system such as Zendesk, but this is not essential. Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage as you will be asked to run searches on the database via SQL queries.

You will work within a close team of Support Desk Analysts to assist clients with technical issues and answer queries on software via telephone and email. You may also be required to support the internal IT Infrastructure to troubleshoot colleagues’ issues with hardware and software and assist with maintaining internal Windows and Linux servers.   • Raise bugs within the system as and when identified, ensuring this has a thorough description to assist the development and testing teams when working to a resolution.
