This department is crucial in delivering on an exciting new growth strategy for the business.

Position summary

The primary function of this DevOps / Cloud role is to support the Managed Services offering - both from a technical and a product perspective. A focus will be on design/implementation/maintenance and troubleshooting of AWS environments and the services implementations. This would entail the creation of new VPC's, networking, integration of products and environments, and the creation and maintenance of operational processes supporting the services.

Success in this role requires very strong system administration skills, an aptitude for distributed systems and attention to minute details. You will require experience of DevOps processes and a deep understanding of the best practices when deploying infrastructure as code.

It will require an individual to own deliverables and see them through to completion.

Duties & accountabilities
  • Oversee daily checks on customer environments to ensure the application is running as desired
  • Must have deep experience with configuration and deployment management in a scripting language. Knowledge of Ansible, AWS cloud formation and DevOps pipelines
  • Deep knowledge of AWS technologies such as EC2, ELB, S3, VPC, EBS, RDS, AMIs, IAM, CloudFormation etc
  • 2 or more years of experience in a highly complex cloud operations environment
  • 2 or more years of experience as Windows 2008 / 2012 systems administrator required
  • MS SQL Server 2012 / 2014 - Standard and Enterprise deployment. High Availability
  • MS Remote Desktop Services - Remote Desktop Gateway and broker
  • 2 or more years PowerShell scripting experience required
  • Version control using Git
  • Monitor adherence to IHSM Group Security standards
  • Own responsibility for documenting / updating processes and relevant documentation
  • Provide expertise to the Professional Services team when implementing new MS customers
  • Working closing with wider IHSM group AWS and Cloud engineers to provide solutions


Education and Experience

React/JS Full Stack Developer
  • Design and implement UI applications and services.
  • Participate in system architecture and design decisions.
  • Continuously improve development and testing best practices.
  • Interpret and analyse business use-cases and translate feature requests into technical designs and development tasks.
  • Take ownership of development tasks, participate in regular design and code review meetings.
  • Delivery focused and keen to participate in the successful implementation and evolution of technology products in close coordination with product managers and colleagues.


Education and expertise

Essential :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong software development experience
  • React, javascript/Typescript (ES6)
  • Node.js (express)
  • Experience with SQL relational databases such as Postgresql
  • Demonstrable experience of using Restful API in a production setting.
  • Test frameworks (e.g. jest, jasmine)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Linux/Unix, Git
  • Agile and XP (Scrum, Kanban, TDD)


Preferred:
  • Devextreme React Components, Bootstrap, HTML5
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
  • Gitlab, Docker
  • AWS - CLI, Cloudfront, Cognito, S3
  • Python, Java/Scala or .Net/C#
