Projects are delivered end to end by individuals - from inception and design with the end users, to development, testing, deployment and post deployment support. We find this accelerates project delivery and minimises communication issues.
From a technical point of view, we work in a mixture of VueJS on Quasar, with a C#/WebAPI backend, and SQL Server, Analysis Services (primarily in Tabular mode) on the storage side as well as working in D3js for both PowerBI custom visuals and pure custom visuals. Alongside this, the team works in PowerBI and Reporting Services for the traditional MIS and BI reporting. Full training on Analysis Services, Reporting Services and PowerBI will be provided using a framework honed through experience with our interns and graduates.
This role will suit a pure-play a C#/JavaScript developer with good SQL skills who wants to move into the data analysis world, and build custom visualisation and analysis systems in Vue.JS, and also learn the BI tooling
Required skills:
- C# .Net Developer (2+ years)
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server Development and data analytical skills
- Experience with Web technologies (HTML, Javascript, Javascript frameworks eg. Vue, Quasar, React etc., other web technologies such as CSS, LESS, SASS, WebPack)
- Experience with test driven development and continuous integration
- Passionate about technology.
- Thorough understanding of object orientated programming and computing fundamentals
- Full Development Life Cycle experience
- Full Stack Development
- Ability to deliver all aspects of a project from start to finish unassisted
- Ability to pick up existing systems and quickly get up to speed
- Ability to diagnose faults and remedy under time pressure
Advantageous skills
- Experience working with VueJS, and any of the frameworks (Quasar, Vuetify, etc.) OR
- Experience implementing and supporting Self-service BI tools such as Tableau, QlikView or Microsoft PowerBI/Excel (PowerPivot, PowerQuery) AND
- Working with complex data sets, preferably with prior experience in a financial setting AND
- Good use of source control, especially Git
