Our client has recenetly made the IR35 determination of a blanket decision registering all PSC/LTD engagements, inside IR35 - therefore, we will be engaging with these consultants via a PAYE model.

Competency

  • CCNP+ Service Provider Lab certified

  • Competent in designing Carrier grade network solutions for projects, complying with IP Net. Dev. design standards.

  • Strong experience with service provider technologies for supporting carrier routing, broadband, Peering and Transit (P&T), Datacentre, Network security, Mobile services.

  • Deep understanding of distributed architecture of service provider, Routing and Switching (R&S) platforms from leading suppliers such as Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, PA, BIG IP and their operating systems.

  • ELTS score 7.0.

    o Excellent (document writing skills) in producing artefacts such as HLD and LLD, presentation and technical Diagrams as part of project engagements

    o Possess excellent communication skills to convey Risks, obtain sign-off, timely escalate issues to management, and send weekly project updates.

  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders to design optimal solutions

  • Ensure eventless rollout of network changes by reviewing change requests

  • Working Knowledge of Git for managing configuration template.

  • Ability to automate using DevOps tools.

  • Ensure successful compliance for all design requirements by contributing actively in testing and provisioning activities such as test planning, Review of MoP's, etc

Summary

Using a combination of science, machine learning and large-scale data this well funded start-up, backed by a team which has already built a billion-dollar revenue business from the ground up, is looking for a back-end software engineer. The team includes some of the most cited scientists in the world and has beaten Google on machine learning for advertising.

They plan to design and build systems primarily to collect, analyse and predict the data. They are building their data analysis and processing pipeline from scratch using Python data science and machine learning tools running on top of AWS. Agile development with Jira, daily stand-ups and Git.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build the scalable back-end for mass market products
  • Design and build the database's analysis pipelines that support the clients' models
  • Be responsible for the underlying compute and storage infrastructure on AWS
  • Manage and process trial and customer data
  • Design and build simple web applications to support the data collected from clinical trials

Requirements
  • Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Physics
  • 5+ years experience building strong, reliable data management and processing systems
  • Ability to quickly approach and complete tasks within a tightly-knit team, including Bioinformaticians, Data Science and Machine Learning experts
  • Experience with Python - both on the data science/machine learning toolkit end, e.g. Pandas. NumPy, SciPy, and on the server-side frameworks, e.g. Django, Flask

  • Expert knowledge of SQL and T-SQL / MySQL.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Industry experience working high volumes of data in 24/7 environment.
  • Experience with SSIS packages development and maintenance.
