Technical Support Engineer - Application Support

Technical Support Engineer required to join a growing business within the FinTech sector, based in Manchester City Centre. As a member of the Technical Support team, you will be required to provide technical support via telephone, email and the Zendesk ticketing system to other helpdesks, customers and end users.

To be considered for this role, you must have experience within Technical support roles (1st/ 2nd Line) and also experienced in providing support to applications, ideally related to the financial industry or with AI technologies.

Role Responsibilities:

*Provide technical support via phone, email and Zendesk ticketing system predominantly helpdesk to helpdesk but occasionally end users.
*Management of strict Service Level Agreement (SLAs) targets carrying penalties for failure to deliver.
*Occasional out of hours disturbances when required.
*Respond efficiently and communicate clearly to ensure the customer's complete satisfaction.
*Triage of issues using knowledge articles and incident management into 3rd line support, prioritising resolution.
*Manage bug fixes, requirement gathering for new features and change requests for existing applications.
*Engage with different teams to identify, prioritise and solve issues.
*Write technical documentation, knowledge management and workflow guides, which will ensure compliance on a global level and provide accurate, valid and complete information in your solutions to problems.
*Liaise with Development teams and external vendors, and articulate technical information to non-technical people.
*Working as a close team and providing mentorship and training to team members where required.
*Occasional need to travel to London for training or knowledge sharing along with client site visits.

Desired Skills:

*Working knowledge of Java
*Experience of customer support and help desk environments
*Hands-on experience in working on scripts and command line applications.
*Working knowledge of databases.
*Experience of Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems.
*Knowledge of SDLC and/or Agile methodology.
*You are able to estimate, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
*Be proactive and work with initiative, and comfortable with working in an agile environment with multiple priorities.
*Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Salary:

Up to £35,000 per annum + benefits

The technology team we are helping to build are streaming microservices platform concerned with empowering our product development teams to:

  • Acquire, manipulate, augment, save and share time series data for batch and real-time needs (with domain specific data bridges for known data formats in motorsport, simulation)
  • Act on the data via message/event driven triggers
  • Act on the data via a programmatic API (TAP API)

The skillset the client is looking for are;

  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C#, Java, Kotlin, C++
  • Experience with .NET Core
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience designing, developing and creating RESTful web services and APIs.
  • Experience with data storage technologies, e.g. SQL, NoSQL, object stores (S3).
  • Good understanding of agile or lean development practices.
