You'll create, maintain, develop and improve our systems to meet the business needs and to drive our systems forward as technology evolves.

 

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in a similar software development role or an appropriate IT degree/college qualification is desirable

All or most of the following (with training to be provided where needed):

  • .NET Framework, .NET Core with VB or C#
  • MVC, Angular or React
  • SQL Server and Linq
  • Javascript and JQuery

Luminate Education Group consists of Leeds City College, Keighley College, Leeds College of Music, The White Rose Academies Trust (WRAT) and recently Harrogate College. You would be joining our Marketing Department for the FE colleges in the group, which operates as an in-house marketing agency and have the following teams; market insight, design, videography, social, web development, events, communications and PR.

As a lead developer, the ideal candidate will not only be an exceptional coder but also a great “people person”. As a member of the development team, you will be involved in designing, developing and maintaining a variety of bespoke software systems. Your duties will include:

  • Developing high-quality bespoke software code
  • Talking through requirements with the client and the development team
  • Taking part in technical design and progress meetings
  • Maintaining and supporting systems once they're up and running
  • Discovering, learning and integrating new technologies into applications to speed up system development or offer cutting edge services to our clients

Experience and Skills

Your experience should include:

  • .NET programming experience
  • C#
  • NET
  • WebAPI
  • Experience with JavaScript front end frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, React, Knockout or similar
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Understanding and experience of object-oriented programming techniques
  • TDD/BDD practices or similar
  • Agile (Scrum) methodology.

Our London office is a 10 minute walk from Waterloo station and our Head Office in Farnborough is a 10 minute walk from Farnborough Main station and close to the town centre and local amenities
