The ICT department is at the start of a substantial and rewarding journey to transform ICT within the Fire Service and as a result we have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Data Systems Engineer to join the ICT team.

This is a varied and interesting role, supporting the ICT team with the transformational change projects and maintaining existing ICT investments in Hardware, Software, Services, Network Infrastructure and Security systems.

The role will require:

Experience in managing and maintaining database systems including data warehouse solutions.
Experience involving data processing, transmission, storage and retrieval along with advanced report writing and analytics, primarily with Microsoft SQL Server.
To be able to configure and maintain database servers and associated processes.
Ability to effectively understand new ICT systems and technologies, including keeping abreast of emerging technologies.

Senior Project Manager - Data and Systems

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £44,674 - £52,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL is London’s Global University, delivering outstanding education and world changing research. The Office of Vice Provost – Advancement (OVPA) supports this mission by forging relationships with alumni and donors to provide funding and support for the university.

This hands-on role covers a broad range of activities and will particularly suit someone with a strong data and database related technical skill set as well as experience of successful project delivery. You will setup, manage and deliver projects related to data and database systems, and be an expert and advocate for our suite of CRM related systems and champion data-driven decision making across the office.

You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the operational and strategic needs of OVPA in relation to data and systems. You will start projects: identifying key stakeholders, agreeing project methodology, scope and benefit. You will also allocate work packages to project team members.

The post-holder will have experience of successfully delivering projects through the full project cycle in a data or database context, working with large relational database systems such as CRMs. The successful candidate will have the ability or a demonstrable aptitude to acquire and develop technical skills related to relational databases and CRM development particularly: SQL, XML, Visual Studio, SQL Server Integration Services, HTML.
