Innovation and Technology Solutions, a section of over 100 staff, is organised in four main operational service groups - Client Services, Infrastructure, Corporate Information Systems (CIS), and Strategic Projects.

This post is based in the Business Intelligence (BI) team within the CIS group, which is responsible for the University's information systems that underpin learning, teaching, research, and administration. Ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of the University's information assets is vital to the smooth running of these systems.

This role will work as an integral member of the Business Intelligence team within Innovation and Technology Solutions to enhance and support our BI service, which is bringing information together into a central data warehouse, supplying it to our stakeholders, and providing tools to visualise and analyse this data in order to support more joined up decision making. For this, the role demands excellent understanding of the use of complex data, preferably within higher education, and of the challenges of cleaning, storing, and securing such information in BI systems.

You will play a significant part in data extraction, integration, and analysis to facilitate the production of strategic management information to support the delivery of the strategic objectives within the Learner Analytics project, the Education Strategy and the Research Strategy. Furthermore you will support the HESA Student and future Data Futures returns by automating much of the data collection and quality checking.

In addition, working as part of a team, you will take ownership of the various systems and supplier relationships used by the Business Intelligence function (including, but not limited to, Tableau server).
