Your new company
You will be working for a leading international insurer who are looking to expand their advanced analytics and data science team. You will be joining your team at their luxurious offices based in the heart of London's financial district.

Your new role
You will be taking ownership of implementing best practice when building and developing Data and ETL pipelines. You will join a fast growing team of data engineers, data scientists and analytics professionals to design and develop solutions in infrastructure, data delivery and automation by using cutting-edge technologies and machine learning techniques.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience in some of but not necessarily all of these areas:

  • Proven track record of developing and embedding data solutions in a commercial context.
  • Strong experience in data engineering to develop and implement machine learning models
  • Be able to communicate and present on complex technical concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Create and maintain data pipeline architecture.
  • Build infrastructure that allows for extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of on-premise and cloud data stores
  • Able to work on distributed environments e.g. Hadoop and run distributed jobs using Spark.
  • Experience of implementing REST APIs for consumption of predictive analytics output.
  • Experience with Python, R, Java, C++, Scala and other relevant programming languages
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, experience with relational databases and familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Ability to configure and administer Linux and windows servers.
  • Ability to setup and configure development environments on premise servers and on Azure.
  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data
  • Strong team player who is able to work with people and deliver on projects by taking ownership
  • Insurance or financial industry knowledge preferred
