DevOps Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help drive the digital transformation and infrastructure support for our Cardiff based client.

The following skills and knowledge would be ideal (as many of the following as possible ideally):

-Very strong Linux Redhat and centos administration
-Security fundamentals, CISbench, firewall, SSH and rsyslog
-Ability to Test, build and deploy code based on GIT repositories is essential
-Experience of working Agile teams
-Collaboration tools such as slack, Jira and confluence
-VMware and virtualisation skills
-Experience using automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Vagrant
-Able to deploy and manage monitoring and logging tools such Elasticsearch, Prometheus, AlertManager or Grafana.
-Understand continuous delivery Jenkins pipeline CI/CD
-Build and maintain the cloud platform infrastructure as code using terraform
-Containers and Redhat Openshift
-Experience of working in Azure or AWS

If you are flexible and committed to work on BAU incidents as needed, working on incident, problem, and change to ensure the SLA needs of the business are met we'd really love to hear from you.

We feel this role should be commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Cwmbran, Rhondda, Merthyr, Barry, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea.

Migration Engineer (Windows & Linux)

A public sector client of ours is currently looking for a Migration engineer, the primary focus of this role will be to assist with the design and implementation of a large-scale migration of users (approx. 1500 users), services and applications. There will also be the requirement to provide support for the services and applications within our clients site.

Key responsibilities:
*Provide consultancy and support for the migration of services from our client's research area into a centralised IT delivery model.
*Provide day to day support of systems to include support of Windows, Active Directory, Unix / Linux and research specific applications.
*Responsible for the successful delivery of technical aspects of the migration project within a Service Management framework and in line with the agreed standards and Service Levels.
*Represent changes to the Research environment in Change Advisory Board meetings, daily and weekly Service Review meetings and the Design Authority.
*Responsible for working closely with the other teams within IT to provide an excellent IT Service.
*Responsible for peer reviewing and contributing to proposed Research solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose and provide optimal value for money.
*Responsible for the adoption into service of new solutions ensuring operational suitability.

Key Skills Needed:
