The Opportunity:

Manage a team of DevOps engineers that support the software release operations for new roll-outs and updates to existing technology by promoting software through controlled environments, testing and production, identifying and troubleshooting issues and escalating to senior leadership as required to foster timely delivery of solutions for business needs.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, define and contribute to QBE's DevOps initiative across a global landscape.
  • Develop a clear vision, plan and structure for Build and Deploy team including roles & responsibilities and operating model
  • Contribute to wider IT strategy through providing relevant information which supports decision and action.
  • Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage and develop team profile
  • Participate and lead, where appropriate in all internal meetings, as required, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice

You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Advanced skills in DevOps Tools sets such as TFS, Bitbucket, SVN, Jenkins, Artifactory, UrbanCode Deploy, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Skills in associated programming languages such as .Net, Java, SQL etc
  • Cloud integration and management (Azure or AWS)
  • Skills in one or more major operating system platforms such as NT, Unix, Linux etc
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Able to proactively manage customer expectations

An Award Winning Bank in the City Of London have an opportunity for a Senior C# Developer with Low Latency knowledge essential. The role is paying up to £115000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits.

Summary

eFX technology is responsible for a suite of applications and services that form the core of the eFX business line servicing clients, internal Sales, and other branches of the group. Jetstream FX is a key platform within that, being both the external Single Dealer Platform, the trading front end and additionally a sales tool platform. There are also a large number of underpinning services such as static data and STP. The suite includes connectivity to markets and multi-dealer venues, single dealer platform, pricing and trader tools, and supports FX spot, forward, options and deposits. Jetstream FX has a significant footprint within the Investment Bank

This is a high profile position and will report directly to the Head of eFX IT.

Your core attributes will include:

• Deep experience with C# working in a similar environment.

• Financial Experience

• Clear communication & systematic reasoning.

• Multithreading

• Low Latency

• Garbage collection-aware techniques

• FIX and other market protocols desirable

• Have front office knowledge of the FX business or quantitative finance.

• Windows OS knowledge, additionally some level of familiarity with Unix is desirable

• Knowledge about software delivery process and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the eFX Jetstream IT team by taking requirements and developing user analytics and solutions to aid in the development of the bank’s eFX platform.

• Prototype solutions in a fast, agile manner with numerous demands from both Front Office and IT teams.

• Be comfortable performing analysis in a high frequency low latency environment.

• Participate in the development of all aspects of product delivery including design documents, functional specifications, unit testing and component build

• Provide technical assistance and 3rd line support to internal Production Support teams.

• Participation on software releases which may be performed out of hours/weekends.

• Participate in sprint planning and estimation and provide regular status updates to project managers.

These responsibilities are not intended to be prescriptive – it is anticipated that staff will be encouraged to undertake activities outside their specific responsibilities.

Your new role

In your new role you will be responsible for technical design, bespoke developments and documentation, including technical specifications of any FRICE components for projects within an Oracle eBusiness Suite, with resource required for the P2P and Finance modules. You will be expected to support testing, and inputs into technical requirements gathering efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for advising on technical aspects in relation to the Oracle P2P and Finance modules associated with the solution.
  • Oracle P2P & Finance module bespoke developments
  • Advise on integration points within wider ERP solution
  • Be able to discuss/advise on the initial approach of a project with configurators and senior architect.
  • Attend customer meetings to support the configurators
  • Assisting with work stream plans, scope, risks and issues
  • Escalate risks and issues to principal designer/project manager, as appropriate
  • Advise and support ERP project configurators on technical requirements of the business
  • Escalate changes to project management, as appropriate


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of implementing and creating bespoke developments for Oracle P2P modules, including iSupplier, Sourcing, Purchasing etc and can assist with aspects of Finance including Accounts Receivables, General Ledger in a R12 environment.
  • Expert in development of reports in XML Publisher
  • Expert in Oracle Workflow
  • Experience of Local Government is highly desirable
  • Experience of Oracle Application Framework Extension (Java)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, able to discuss solutions in workshops/customer meetings
  • Experience of Oracle Reports (report builder/forms builder Oracle 10g)
  • Experience of writing technical documents and assisting with understanding functional specifications, and able to liaise with other technical teams
  • Expert in writing PL/SQL and Oracle SQL
  • Experience of Unix installer creation
