Are you looking to work for a business that makes a positive difference to the world?

Does working in an environment where you are able to "Get stuff done" with minimal red tape, sound good to you?

Do you want to work across a range of projects and for lots of different clients where your work is always different?

Would working in a small, but senior team with a flat structure be the right kind of make-up for you?

Do you want to work with PHP, Laravel and Vue but start learning more about React, AWS, DevOps, Node.JS?

We are working with a really interesting company based in the centre of Oxford who are seeking a Web Developer to work on both client projects and campaigns, but also on internal projects. They build a variety of websites and web pages with a varying degree of size, scale and budget and with business booming, they need additional Developers to be able to stay on top of the workload. Sometimes this can just be a holding page, sometimes a whole new website and other times it can be a whole application or platform, depending on the needs of their clients. The Web Developer will also get to use different technologies depending on what is required, including React, Vue, PHP, Laravel, Webpack, AWS and Node, so part of the Web Developer role is to keep on top of new technologies and recommend as needed. Most of the work, roughly 70% will be Front End Development and 30% will be Back End Development, but this will vary from week to week.

Some Great Reasons to Apply for this Full Stack Web Developer Vacancy:

  • Making a positive difference to the world / Tech 4 Good
  • Ability to get on with your work without having large chains of approval
  • Flexibility over technology selection and best use
  • Variation of work - budgets, size and scale
  • Really high calibre company to work for - only hire the best people
  • Flat team structure
  • Great package and strong benefits list
  • Plenty of training and personal development
  • Company doing really well with lots of security
  • Introducing some DevOps principles
  • 1 day a week from home

What the hiring team would like from this Web Developer:

  • Some decent JavaScript skills with experience of Vue or React, ideally
  • HTML and CSS
  • PHP with ideally some Laravel experience too
  • Creativeness
  • Passion for technology and learning more

If you have any of this, then brilliant, but don't worry if not:

  • UX understanding
  • DevOps experience
  • Agency experience

So, if you are a Web Developer with at least Front End experience (who would be happy to learn the Back End stuff) or a Full Stack Developer who just wants to build good looking and highly functional websites and applications then this role would be a great opportunity.

Please apply immediately for consideration.

Senior Developer - Python (or any language)

Salary: £48K Circa with an OTE package after 12 months of £55K - £70K.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Developer to join a rapidly growing technology company. This is an exciting time with some high profile projects in the pipeline for 2020. The majority of development work will be in Python however, candidates experienced in other languages with a willing to learn Python will be considered.

Role of the Senior Developer

Senior Developers report to the Engineering Team Leader / CTO and form a crucial part of the in-house development team. They work in teams with other senior and junior developers, in all phases of the product development cycle. Broadly, the role entails:

·Produce software that will drive new products or upgrades
·Create web interfaces and other similar management systems
·Design, integrate, test and package new products
·Produce software documentation to a professional standard
·Prototype new product functionality prior to committed development
·Write high-level and detailed specifications for new products
·Maintain and extend existing product components (Python), as well as delivering a web-based user interface (template HTML with JavaScript & jQuery). Provide extra focus on non-functional requirements including test coverage, maintainability, performance and scalability.
·Develop internal tools to support development, diagnosis and testing of the product range, including load generators, wrappers around the product (e.g. using Selenium and paramiko) and test infrastructure which can be used with Jenkins.
·Contribute to platform architecture, including longer term evolution of underlying OS distribution and component choices. Research and select appropriate third party components to help develop the product range, considering the need for small footprint, long-term stability and support, and balancing simplicity with functionality.
·Contribute to and extend open source projects - from diagnosing and fixing Squid cache issues (C++).
·High-level design of new products and detailed design of new components, helping refine the approaches taken and setting standards for design quality throughout the team.

Requirements of the Senior Developer

·Fluency working and programming with Linux, working with a range of network protocols. Similar experience with other UNIX may be considered.
·Strong Python skills, with code available for evaluation. In the absence of Python experience, significant experience in multiple (3+) other languages - as well as a demonstrable ability to learn Python quickly - will be considered
·Solid skills working with Web applications technologies and frameworks
·Fluency with HTML, Javascript, CSS
·Solid knowhow of database systems

ITap Group Developer Vacancy - Full Stack Engineer

Stack: Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

ITAP Group is both a successful online media business and digital payments firm at an exciting growth phase.

We are looking for a very keen full stack developer who is willing to learn in a fast-paced environment in a close knit team with shared responsibility for the company’s goals.

The full stack developer carries responsibility working on a large range of projects for the parent company. The in house sites have over 100,000 unique users per month.

The growth forecasts behind the platform over the coming year mean there will be plenty of greenfield and growth work. The stack is comprised of:

Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

The firm has an established reputation in the market and a unique product. The internet is our business so we like to keep on top of the latest technology in terms of both UI and ecommerce. You will be working on a high demand website and have a key role with the Managing Director’s ear. There will certainly be exposure to API development, as well as front end work using React.

The successful candidate also has the chance to transition between web and mobile app development.

Required, desirable and nice to have skills and exposure (the below also gives you an idea of stack):

Required:

  • Good knowledge of Node.js
  • Good knowledge of React
  • HTML / CSS / SASS
  • TypeScript (should also be comfortable with vanilla JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB (or a similar NoSQL document database)
  • Comfortable with Linux (daily usage and system administration)

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Meteor.js
  • GraphQL (Apollo)
  • MySQL
  • Exposure to NativeScript or React Native
  • Angular (v4+)

Nice to have

  • PHP
  • AngularJS (1.x)

Ideally we are looking for a bright junior to mid-level developer with good fundamentals in software development and the ability to learn fast.

You must be hands on and have strong experience in the stack but not always in time served. You will also be a techie motivated by technology. In return you will be rewarded both financially and in other ways by a business that prides itself on delivery and family attitudes.

Once up to speed, the successful candidate will carry responsibility over an area of the business and work with other members of the company to achieve its objectives. This will involve bringing new ideas to the table and and carrying them through to successful implementation, then maintaining and improving them based on user interaction.

We are based in London Vauxhall in a new vibrant office space. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with an open dress code.

Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

The salary available is £30,000 to £45,000 depending upon experience, however, if you are unsure if it is for you, it's always worth a quick conversation so please apply and we'll call you as soon as we can.
