Data Analyst

Circa £35,000 – £50,000+ dependent on experience plus benefits

Designing and delivering progressive Data solutions to support business, process and technical challenges across their global operations, the Advanced Analytics function is looking for like-minded individuals to join them and to become integral to this Internal Consultancy OR and Business Modelling team.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify and understand a business situation, define the data required, formulate an analytical & mathematical solution and work on its successful implementation.

Having around 3-5 years’ commercial analytical experience, you will be a hands-on and able to build business models and / or simulations.  Machine Learning experience and Data Science is a definite advantage and you will enjoy working closely with the end user, either independently or as part of a team solving challenging analytical problems

Broad technical knowledge ideally covering SQL, Python, VBA, IBM SPSS Modeler, Simio, R, SAS Minitab – Linear Programming ability is a requirement as is knowledge of software tools that encompass Optimisation, Predictive Analysis, Simulation, Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning techniques.   AiMMS Optimisation tool experience is a plus.

Mathematically strong you will ideally hold a good BSc and MSc (or equivalent) in Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.    

Trips to European offices should be expected  - circa 2 months a year in total.

Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrable experience providing client led analysis to support decision makers within either the public or private sectors, minimum experience 5 years.
• A passion for analysing data and the ability to provide insights and bring data to life through different presentation outputs
• Experience working with data lakes / data warehouses with a preference within AWS or alternatives such as Azure or Google Cloud.
• The ability to manipulate, sanitise and map large amounts of data.
• Experience and knowledge of statistical modelling.
• Expert Excel user. Experience using at least one of: R, Python, SQL modelling, VBA or similar.
• An interest in machine learning / AI
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• The ability to think creatively to data science problems.
• Proactive, and exemplary attention to detail.
• The ability to work as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
• Ability to have a pragmatic and innovative approach when there is a lack of data

The following skills and experiences are preferable:

• Experience within either Policing, Defence or Security.
• Experience building predictive models to support analysis requirements.
• Business intelligence reporting in Tableau or PowerBI (or similar tool).
• Experience of using collaborative software such as Skype, Confluence, Sococo etc.

As a Support Analyst you will report into the Business Consultant and assisting with administration of their Intralink portal helping customers access sensitive documents.  You will be liaising with customers such as Investors, Fund Administrators and Venture Capitalist etc.

Responsibilities: -

• Support, monitor and gain permission for changes were necessary
• Report generation for downstream users and systems
• Creation and testing of funds
• User administration of Intralinks
• Support of the Intralink application
• Maintain CRM
• Document management/distribution

Technical Skills: -

• Strong Microsoft Office including VBA skills
