A top hedge fund is hiring for a Junior or Mid-level SRE to join their New York City office to build and manage their Linux-based compute, network, and storage infrastructure with a focus on eliminating work through automation. The focuses on building automation to manage and monitor infrastructure services and applications, improving reliability, availability, and performance, improving operations and solving systems issues, while learning and growing in a challenging, fast-paced, but supportive environment.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, at least a year of experience building and managing Compute, Network, or Storage systems in a Linux environment. Candidates must have proficiency in Python and experience with automation, configuration management and provisioning tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform). Candidates should also have basic knowledge of storage such as object/block/file storage, NFS, OS environments and virtualization, and networking such as DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP, IP.

In addition, exposure to designing analyzing, and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems, experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Grafana, Zabbix, experience with APIs, experience with source control such as Git, GitHub, Perforce, and experience with security concepts such as ACL, IPSec, TSL/SSL, Kerberos is highly desirable.
