We are currently hiring for a talented Software Engineer to join a market-leading FinTech. Whilst they are a very established company they have a relatively new and modern engineering department in London. As a result, they can offer you greenfield development and complex problems to solve whilst enjoying a high level of autonomy and influence within the Spotify squads model.

Their SaaS platform is built with a microservices architecture with multiple web/mobile applications built on top. They use Java 11 on the back end and they are leveraging a combination of open source and third-party libraries/frameworks such as Eureka, MongoDB, ElasticSearch and Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Other technologies they use include Kotlin, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudBees, Angular 6/8, TypeScript and many more!

Essential requirements:


- Experience with Java 8 and Java 11

- Good coding ability with JavaScript and experience using Angular 6/7

- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases

- Experience with various cloud-based technologies

- Experience with REST API design and microservices architecture.

- Understanding of HTTP, Caching and headers etc...

- Desire to work in a cross functional agile team

Gibbs Hybrid are looking for an accomplished Technical Architect to work onsite with a client in Leeds for a 6 month FTC. The Technical Architect will provide technical architecture services for the data analytics platform: create technical designs for evolution tools data and develop those designs into new products to port to the AWS Cloud.

This role is part of the Gibbs Hybrid Consultancy Team for a Fixed Term Contract of 6mths and based in Leeds, Yorkshire. Pro rata’d salary with holidays, pension and benefits

Essential:

  • Technical architecture

  • Previous experience of working on data analytics platforms

  • ***Valid SC Clearance/ SC Cleared / Security Clearance is essential***

  • Previous experience of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Development in Python, Pyspark and Java using Object Oriented Programming

  • Experience of high performance coding and benchmarking

  • Test and behavioural driven development (TDD and BDD)

  • Experience of using Git and GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket

  • The ability to deal with complex Json data structures

  • Extensive experience of handling Json data containing multiple schema versions and deeply nested schemas

  • The ability to deal with schema evolution of Json data, including complexities such as circular references and inconsistencies between data and schemas

  • Be able to produce strategies aligned to business needs

  • Translating business requirements into technical designs

  • Previous experience of working with the AWS cloud platform

* To be able to work directly with business users in all aspects of design and development.
* Produce code that meets quality, coding and performance standards according to local IT guidelines and policies including Security, auditing and SOX requirements.
* Undertake Unit testing making full utilisation of automation tools available and working with the system test team to ensure tests are integrated as part of the overall test plan
* Work with off-shore partners in the review of requirements, functional and technical documentation and coding to ensure adherence to guidelines and policies.
* Work with the Business Analysts to ensure requirements and functional design is accurately captured in UML design models.
* Provide technical support for the production running of the core business systems, diagnosing faults and creating code fixes or data-patches to correct production issues.

Experience and skills required:
* Extensive commercial development experience using Oracle and PL/SQL
* Proven capability with C, Java, C# .Net
* Good technical understanding of Oracle database & tuning.
* Good knowledge of UML modelling. Thorough understanding of SOA, its impacts and drivers.
