WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

"In a nut shell" you will be maintaining, supporting and mainly… Developing our internal and external applications. We are working on some new projects and is still early days, we know that there will need to be changes along the way. That is why it will be essential that you can bring ideas to the table and consult with non IT professionals to improve application development. You will be required to be self-motivated and willing to contribute, offer guidance on projects. Good quality code will be essential, as will a "can do" attitude and an excellent teamwork mentality. Collaboration is important to us, therefore you will have to communicate effectively with your team and between teams to be effectively informative at all times. We are looking for a developer with a with a fair amount of experience in the software industry and well-honed C# / ASP.Net / WebAPI / Entity Framework / LINQ experience. We operate an Agile environment and will ensure you have the continuous support of the seniors whilst reporting directly to the Head of Development. This is an excellent opportunity to be vocal within a technical team and grow as part of a fantastic company. We like to take care of our team, therefore we have put an excellent benefit package in place which includes remote working, flexi time, dental insurance, cycle to work scheme, an excellent tech scheme and much more!!!

My client, an innovative gaming company, are looking to hire a QA Engineer to join their team who has a good understanding of working with either C# or Java.

In this role, you’ll be joining as a Mid-Level and will be working closely with your Lead and other Seniors on the project.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring Quality is at the fore-front of everyone’s mind, implementing it from the very start by being involved in the user story process
  • Bring a quality perspective in Scrum meetings
  • Work within a cross-functional team closely with Developers
  • Creation automated tests where necessary (Selenium)

Your New Role

  • You will play a key part and play an integral role in the support and improvement of the Financial Services Platform. You will participate in ALL areas of the PaaS platform and so will develop into a well-rounded Engineer.
  • You will work closely with the wider platform and operations engineering teams in order to identify, research, propose and implement new solutions that will drive improvement to the existing PaaS platform.
  • You will align to the PaaS Roadmap in order to provide a low cost, low latency and high performant platform.
  • You will also adopt modern practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to your work.
  • You will align to industry standard cloud principles and take initiative in your work, this will include assisting in 2nd line support from time to time.



Your Experience

  • As a Junior Platform Engineer you will come from either a Networking, Virtualisation or Development Background.
  • You should have some interest or general interest in cloud platform technologies (AWS, Azure or vCloud).
  • Be aware of PaaS and DevOps concepts.
  • You will have a good understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analysis. (Splunk, VMware VROPS, New Relic or HP-OV)
  • You will be able to script in either Python or Bash.
  • You will also have a passion for and experience in automation
