Responsibilities

  • As well as working with other developers, you will also be working alongside systems analysts, testers, architects and delivery managers to deliver quality software.
  • You will be involved in the estimation of work and definition of backlog items.
  • Analyse, document and propose solutions by mapping business requirements to technical solutions.
  • Be involved in the application design process, ensuring each system component is well written, performant and ensuring scalability by making applications multi-instance where appropriate.
  • Write code and unit tests to specification.
  • Perform triage of defects and track them through to technical resolution.
  • Participate in daily stand ups.
  • Own the code management in the team and ensure effective use of source control systems.
  • Share your experience with other team members and contribute to the learning culture. Mentor and guide other developers.
  • Work with DevOps to ensure continuous deployment processes are achieved.

Job Title Data Analyst

This role sits in the Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) team. The RFT Data Fabric consists of 2 primary ecosystems, one that is more focused towards Investment Banking and Markets data and the second for data relating to BUK or group consolidated data. The Data Fabric Architecture team is responsible for the governance and evolution of the data architecture across both of these platforms ensuring that data is consumed from the right sources in the right way, including data sourcing having agreed and enforced SLAs; measurement of the quality of our data; and proactive identification and mitigation of threats to our change plans for the future.

What will you be doing?


• Work with upstream and downstream Data publishers and consumers to navigate the data onboarding process and participate in the implementation of the wider data governance Framework.
• Coordinate with CDO (Chief Data Office) to track lineage and critical data elements through the data fabric
• Document data quality rules through the data flows, highlight data quality gaps and track data quality issues with the CDO teams.
• Gather requirements for client requests in relation to the RFT Data Fabric and work with development teams and Project Managers to deliver new features.
• Document Data Lineage for data types within the Fabric and create a logical data model for the fabric
• Maintenance of the Data Fabric SharePoint & Confluence including feature evolution and data flows
• Maintaining and documenting the Data Fabric (the project name) roadmap and interlocks

We are seeking a new member of staff to join the Application Support Team to work closely with Blackbaud CRM users across the National Deaf Children's Society to understand their business processes and provide a range of support. Using SQL and SSIS, you will move data into and out of the system. You will create and distribute reports using SSRS to allow complex requests to be satisfied and data to be easily accessed by users. Through championing the system and providing training, you will support users in using the CRM and self-serving data where practical so as to best support their work.

You will quickly get to know how the different business areas work and how the CRM application and its database are structured and functions - so that you can support the work of our various services teams and play a key role in ensuring that the database remains an accurate and useful tool across the organisation.

You should have a good knowledge of SQL, experience of importing and/or exporting data, and building marketing selections and reports. You should appreciate the need for good quality data, collected in a consistent way and maintained to a high standard.
