We are currently looking for an experienced DBA/developer to help with managing our DB stack. We cover a wide range of technologies and have a substantial footprint in Azure and GCP.

Role

You will be the first DBA/database developer in our team which consists of many talented and highly experienced IT professionals. You can expect to be working with different database technologies and hosting platforms. You will be working closely with our DevSecOps team on improving our ways of working and promoting best practices. Big part of the role is education and consultancy within and outside of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer MS SQL Server databases (user access, backups strategy, security strategy, audit, encryption)
  • Design databases and infrastructure fit for purpose
  • Support live systems
  • Data quality assurance
  • Manage deployment process of new versions of BI solutions
  • Develop, support and maintain BI solutions (including database engine, ETL, cubes, SSRS reports, web application)
  • Work with DevSecOps Team
  • Identify and resolve performance problems
  • Organise training sessions for team

Required skills

  • Database platforms: SQL Server 2008R2 (or newer), Azure SQL, MongoDB or CosmosDB, MySQL or MariaDB 10.2 (or newer)
  • ETL: Alteryx, SQL Server SSIS, Azure DataFactory
  • Proficiency in programming languages: C#, F#, Powershell, T-SQL, MDX, Python
  • Knowledge of distributed enterprise systems concepts and design (scalability, reliability, security, disaster recovery)
  • Strong experience with MS stack including MS Azure

Organisations have to be more aware of, and responsive to, the risks and opportunities facing them. Governance, risk and controls is a board level topic and offers a diverse and purposeful career. Should you continue onto the Summer Internship, or Graduate Business, Risk and Controls pathway you'll be deeply involved in understanding and assessing a client’s business processes, both operational and financial, and their IT environment, identifying and reviewing the risks and controls and providing recommendations to further enhance their design and operation.

What you’ll need

  • You’ll need to be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject
  • We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study
  • You'll need to be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree; or
  • You'll need to be in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one year postgraduate place confirmed

About the role

As an Information Security Analyst in Operate at PwC you will support the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team. You will support assessments ensuring our suppliers are compliant with relevant business and IT security requirements and any other activity as the business dictates. You will utilise innovative IT solutions to complete your daily tasks and work with colleagues in a virtual team format across a number of global hubs. This role requires you to work with clients across the globe so proficiency in either French or Italian is preferred.

Scope of Responsibility

In your role your responsibilities will additionally include stakeholder management, assessment, triage, ad-hoc research, daily, weekly and monthly reporting and MI. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the risks associated with supplier dependency and be able to work collaboratively in a team to ensure that all risks are mitigated and compliance is maintained holistically across the business. Additionally, the analyst must fulfill SLAs, work to develop strong relationships with team members, managers and other IT staff to progress resolution of requests, and contribute to a culture of continuous business improvement.

Who we are looking for

Do you have strong technical background coupled with excellent customer service experience?

You’ll be a curious individual with an understanding of technology. Knowledge of software and high-level security concepts is preferred, as well as the ability to assess and complete requests within assigned timeframes. Although the role is process-driven and training will be provided, some background knowledge will be advantageous.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant degree in technology, information governance, information security or similar and/or related and relevant work experience
  • Fluency or Proficiency in either French or Italian.
  • Comfortable with high degrees of technology usage
  • Organised, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering high quality output for clients
  • Awareness of data protection and governance issues
  • Ability to assimilate different sources of information and extract relevant data points
  • Great communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Great teamwork skills and ability to manage a varied workload.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Third Party Risk Management or other elements of IT security / data management
  • Previous work in the data protection area, particularly in relation to GDPR.
