Role: KDB Developer
Location: London
Barclays are hiring a KDB Developer based within Algo and Electronic Trading Technology (AETT). You will be working with a knowledge-rich team, working together to deliver cross asset Kdb+ solutions to support FX / rates / credit and Equities businesses as prioritised. You will also Integrate and leverage the latest Data science platform being built in the kdb estate. The ideal candidate will fit into the team and the current code base, make it their own, and use this as a base to be able to design and develop new components.

What will you be doing?
•Develop robust, high performance, unit tested Kdb+ solutions, both tactical and strategic as required and prioritised
•Deliver solutions in line with the strategic AETT Kdb architecture, and in a way such that they can be shared across asset classes when required.
•Work closely with senior business users to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions
•Provide estimates for tasks, including design, development and testing
•The candidate will be able to communicate with senior stakeholders to understand their requirements and manage their expectations of delivery, at director and managing director level.
•Key stakeholders must be kept aware of the processes and procedures require for work prioritization.
•If an expedited solution is necessary, the candidate should be able to analyse the situation and deliver rapid resolutions.
•The candidate should understand the impact a change has when defining solutions and build this into estimates.
•Cover L3 support and perform releases when required by the team rota.
What we’re looking for:
•Excellent Q/Kdb+ programming skills on Linux
•Development experience in front office / electronic trading systems.
•Strong knowledge of agile and SDLC processes.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Banking experience
•Experience with Maven / Java / Git / Team City
