Position Overview…

This position will see you join our clients EMEA Technical Support Team.

You will be trained in our client’s market leading product, through their highly recognised training academy, whilst being partnered with an experienced team member to get you fully engrossed into their product, way of working and culture.

You will work with techie customers and partners on helping them resolve technical issues. There is no technical ceiling on this position as you will have full ownership of cases, facing different challenges on a daily basis!

You will work within a team who love to knowledge share! So, it is important that you enjoy working collaboratively and want to always learn and push your technical abilities further.

Key Skills…

  • You are a natural problem solver or technical puzzle solver! You must have excellent troubleshooting skills, coupled with customer support experience.
  • Experience working across either Windows, Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Has experience supporting Web Applications (i.e. Tomcat, WebLogic or WebSphere)
  • Has been exposed to troubleshooting or performance tuning of Java based applications.
  • Exposure to working with Relation Databases such as; MySQL, SQL Server or Postgres etc…
  • Exposure or knowledge of Networking fundamentals and any experience with Wireshark would be highly beneficial!
  • If you have deeper experience in writing and reading Java code, that is also a huge benefit- but not essential!
  • Excellent prioritization skills and has the ability to think quickly on your feet when dealing with a variety of technical issues.
  • Show’s a passion for self-learning, knowledge sharing and wanting to develop new technical and softer support skills.

IT Service Manager | Man & Supplier Manager | Corby, Northants

An exciting new IT Manager role has been created for a global manufacturing giant that is growing its Northants base. Our client is looking for a strong-willed candidate to provide leadership and enforce policy consistency across the UK's IT function. Whilst you will mainly be based at the HQ in Corby, there will also be some travel to the company's base in Hemel Hempstead.

The company has around 80 staff based in the UK across two sites, with around 3,000 globally. You will also be responsible for 1-2 direct reports.

Main responsibilities:

  • Definition and leadership of local IT service.
  • Manage a team of 1-2 direct reports
  • Managed the future migration to Office365
  • New start onboarding/offboarding and collaboration for best practice from other European sites
  • It would be advantageous to have PowerBI and/or SQL as the business is consolidating their reporting to PowerBI
  • Develop a business case for IT investments to drive future business improvements.
  • Recommend improvement opportunities regarding existing IT processes.
  • Review and management of 3rdparty service agreements.
  • Plan annual capex budget for UK Healthcare and Retail environments.
  • Management, leadership and appraisal of UK IT staff to direct and develop operations.
  • Provide hands on support and incident management for efficient service operations.
  • Provide IT training for internal stakeholders to enable daily business use of technology.
  • Adopt and implement central applications to support global operational requirements.
  • Monitor user backup operations to ensure successful operation and data protection.
  • Management & responsibility for local telephony infrastructure.

Job requirements, complexity, and challenges:

  • Minimum 3 years in an IT support environment.
  • An understanding of data protection and security principles
  • Flexibility for travel when required
  • Ability to think broader than pure technology and how technology can influence business processes.
  • Conformity to the ISO27001 accreditation regarding data protection and security.

The Role:

The BI Technical Specialist Lead will be instrumental in the development and maintenance of Microsoft business intelligence solutions across the business. The focus initially will be to lead the deployment of development migrations from legacy systems (SAP, Oracle, SQL Server) to MS Azure using tools such as Azure Data Factory.

Key Skills/Experience:

The ideal candidate would have an understanding or working knowledge of some, if not all the technologies below.
