Software Engineer C++

Consumer Electronics / Music Technology / Audio Electronics

Cambridgeshire

£40-45K plus benefits package

Opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a high-end audio electronics company and develop software in C and C++ for their premium audio products, including playback systems to connect audio hardware, and media applications to interface with online music streaming services like Spotify.

They are a premium brand in the consumer audio market and are known for their high standards of engineering and absolute precision. They are looking for a software developer who can bring their own ideas to the table, so this role is well suited to an accomplished C++ software engineer who is looking for more freedom in their job.

It's a great time to join the company as they are well established (30+ years) but also still growing, thanks to the combination of long-standing core products and the success of a new product line launched last year.

Joining a small, specialist team, you will be working across a variety of projects in C and C++, including…

-Developing software to interface with media and music streaming services like Spotify, Rune, Deezer and TIDAL
-Working in C++ to develop software for music and media playback
-Collaborating with hardware and electronic engineers to develop networked audio products
-Taking software products from ideas and concepts through to development and delivery
-Building media streaming applications
-Using Qt to build cross platform GUIs

The breadth of projects therefore requires an experienced C++ developer who has a good 'bigger picture' overview of software development, with knowledge across C and C++, embedded Linux, Qt, network standards and ARM processors.

Skill set:

-Background developing software for music technology, audio or streaming products and applications
-Accomplished C and C++ developer
-Skilled in Qt for GUI development
-Expert in embedded Linux
-Familiar with network and internet standards
-Detailed knowledge of ARM processors

If this C++ Software Developer role sounds appealing, please apply and I will contact you with further details. If this isn't the right role for you but you are interested in working in audio or music, please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter at NoiseyTess.
