The Debt & Capital Advisory team comprises over 25 people; focused on our principal areas of Private Equity Coverage, Capital Markets and Firm-originated work.

As part of its growth planning, the team is growing significantly in the regions and is now looking to recruit an additional manager based in Manchester and covering the North of England. The team can offer the successful candidate experience across a wide variety of engagements with significant opportunities for self-development. Our work typically requires advice on:
  • Evaluating business plans for robustness and sensitivity.

About the role

  • Utilising your experience to drive business development initiatives, including attending pitches with potential new clients

Essential skills and experience

We are looking for individuals who in all cases have a strong academic track record. A professional qualification is welcome. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:
  • Excellent relationships in the corporate finance market, with particular focus on local lenders and Private Equity sponsors
  • Experience working with (or ideally for) a lender, including an ability to understand and explain credit processes in detail
  • Detailed understanding of banking documentation and legal structuring of debt finance
  • A detailed knowledge of leveraged finance lending and a strong understanding of other banking products
  • Professional services / client facing experience, working as a financial advisor to regional clients, including owner managed and private equity backed companies
  • Experience of financial modelling, or the interest and aptitude to learn this core skill quickly.
  • Commercial curiosity and demonstrable interest in corporate finance.

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

Who we are looking for

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Associate within our Corporate Simplification and Exit business (CSE) in the Midlands. This person will be responsible for assisting the CSE management team in all aspects of the administration of solvent liquidations.

The successful candidate will also help develop existing client relationships, both internally and externally, and develop further opportunities with the assistance of the management team.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all compliance and process matters are adhered to.

  • To meet all client expectations with respect to the high quality of service expected from a professional services firm.

  • Preparing and review company and legal documentation.

  • Communicating with and reporting to clients and external agencies (e.g. HM Revenue & Customs) and updating them on progress. Demonstrate proactive project management and stakeholder manager skills.

  • Prepare and monitor assignment budgets, identifying and flagging sensitivities and / or overruns to the CSE management team. Proactive in developing their technical knowledge, particularly their knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Companies Act 2006.

  • Visiting client locations and carrying out a review of financial statements and legal documentation.

  • Analysing company history, investigating information and undertaking research.

  • Ability to grow a network internally and externally and assist CSE management in business development activities.

Preferred skills

Qualifications and Experience

  • Applicants must have a strong academic background, and work experience within professional services including exposure to Law, Accountancy or (In)solvency would be an advantage.

  • Liquidation experience is preferable

A career in our Mid Market practice, within Deals Business Recovery Services, will provide you with the opportunity to support our clients survive an imminent crisis or simply FIX gaps in their organisation. In joining, you'll help clients, among other things, reduce balance sheet stress, generate cash and reduce costs or refinance to find the best source of capital to support their business objectives. Whatever the solution, we help them manage road blocks until the job is done.

Our team helps companies of all sizes simplify their corporate structure and reduce overall operating costs. As part of the team, you'll help with project management, administrative tasks, dissolution, risk reduction and corporate restructuring.


Who we are looking for

An opportunity has become available for an Associate within our Corporate Simplification and Exit business (CSE). This person will be responsible for assisting the CSE management team in all aspects of the administration of solvent liquidations.

The successful candidate will also help develop existing client relationships, both internally and externally, and develop further opportunities with the assistance of the management team.


Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all compliance and process matters are adhered to.

  • To meet all client expectations with respect to the high quality of service expected from a professional services firm.

  • Preparing company and legal documentation.

  • Communicating with and reporting to clients and external agencies (e.g. HM Revenue & Customs) and updating them on progress.

  • Visiting client locations and carrying out basic review of financial statements and legal documentation.

  • Analysing company history, investigating information and undertaking research.

  • Develop proactive project and stakeholder management skills


Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Applicants must have a strong academic background, and work experience within professional services including exposure to Law, Accountancy or (In)solvency would be an advantage but not a necessity.

The Individual
  • Confident communicator and able to deal with people on all levels in a mature and capable manner.

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Flexible, willing to work overtime and travel to other PwC network offices and clients premises (as required).

  • Fast learner with a desire to succeed.

  • Clear logical thinker and organised.

  • Proactive and self-motivated.

  • Willing to embrace and learn new technology.
