This role is part of the BI team who will act like an internal consultancy across all business streams to platform data effectively and provide reporting allowing the analytics teams to perform more advanced and predictive analysis with high quality data sets.

THE ROLE

If you were to be successful in your application for this Senior BI Analyst Developer, your responsibilities would include:

  • As they redesign and rearchitect their entire data environment, you'll play an important role in shaping our BI reporting and self-service technology stack and implementing best practices.
  • You'll work across the organisation to identify opportunities to improve decision making, designing and delivering BI solutions that make them smarter, quicker and faster with every release.
  • As you develop in the company, you'll acquire an in-depth understanding of one or more areas of the business, acting as an advisor and partner and help them to improve performance outcomes through the use of data and technology.
  • Help to shape our unit and organisational KPIs and ensure the data and reporting is there to support them.
  • Act as an expert mentor and develop and lead training and workshops to raise the standards of our utilisation of data across the company. Whether it's training analysts on automating their workflows or business units on how to use self-service tools


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In order for your application for the Senior BI Analyst Developer role to be successful you will need;

  • Strong academic background in computer science, information systems, engineering, machine learning or other quantitative subject.
  • Expert in SQL and demonstrable experience in developing data reporting and BI solutions in commercial environments. You know how to shape requirements and work productively to achieve impact.
  • Experience in Google Cloud Platform or another cloud based data environment
  • Experience with Dbt would be extremely sought after or even a knowledge that, failing that a knowledge of Python for custom ETL and distributed version control tools like Git
  • Capture people's attention and explain complex ideas whether you're presenting to a room full of senior leaders or writing documentation..
  • You know how to lead and execute a BI project from requirements gathering to satisfactory delivery, communicating to your stakeholders proactively and organising resources.

  • Lead the customer data and reporting team and key data projects for one of their major brands
  • Define and manage the data roadmap and delivery of customer behaviour reporting.
  • Understand the key sources of data currently used and analyse how it can be enhanced, finding new ways in which the data can be utilised to improve performance in a totally Greenfield environment
  • Build accurate reporting which offers a holistic view of customer behaviours, helps the business priorities plus identifies new opportunities for deeper analysis
  • Lead the development of new data structures /definitions/KPI's to leverage better reporting, analytical and insight from data (in conjunction with the data hub team).
  • Lead and coach a team of reporting developers and analysts as well as be lead on the selection of tools, technologies and strategy going forward
