Our client is seeking an Analyst Programmer on an initial 2-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Working Hours and Pay Rate:
Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. At a pay rate of £30.00 p/h PAYE
Job Purpose:
You will be expected to produce regular data extracts from operational databases and case management systems using Transact-SQL (Microsoft Dialect SQL) and manipulate those data using advanced EXCEL features, VBA Scripts and Macros.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will have a strong programming/computer science background preferably with a degree in maths, physics, engineering or computer science or in another stem or social sciences discipline with a significant mathematical/statistical component.
- You will be a fluent SQL query writer with a solid understanding of the underlying principles of data design and management. You will be able to immediately take ownership of a legacy codebase and be able to optimise existing code and write new code to allow quarterly, monthly and weekly reporting to be fully automated.
- At the interview, you will be expected to demonstrate fluency with the most frequently used SQL query statements including select, where, order, join, insert and case statements and be able to explain how they are used in practical contexts.
- You will be fluent and expect to be immediately productive in a modern scripting language preferably Microsoft VBA, however, if you have a strong Python (or similar) skills with exposure to VBA, strong MS office skills and a willingness to learn on the job we will also consider your application favourably.

- You will have a good understanding of statistics, being able to calculate correlations, regressions and analysis of variance and explain the statistical validity of your findings to colleagues and other stakeholders.
