DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer needed for a leading based in Horsham, West Sussex, who are looking to employ an experienced DevOps Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of Configuration as code background in Azure, Cloud technologies, Scripting abilities using PowerShell, Cake or Python, OO coding practices, ideally around .Net code

Some of the main duties of the DevOps Engineer will include:

* This position is responsible for the development of solutions and deployment of the suite of applications and development and streamlining of processes/systems
* Write tools and scripts that aid the build and deployment of applications in a SaaS / Azure environment
* Liaise with and provide education to developers on build and deployment operations
* Monitor server and application system monitoring
* Ensure that the company complies with regulatory standards and best practices. Also help oversee IT related verifications, audits and due diligence
* Evaluate, develop and implement policies and procedures related to computer systems operation and development
* Manage backup system for hosted platform, ensuring operations are effective and relevant
* Participate in new projects and aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plan

In order to be the successful DevOps Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following:

* Azure systems, Networking Protocols
* 3 years' experience of design and implement cloud infrastructure in Azure, as required by the company and developers
* 1-2 years' experience of working with OO coding practices, ideally around .Net code and asses the aspect that effect the build and deployment processes
* Having implemented an automate builds & deployment as code using the automation of build & deployment software (Octopus and cake)
* Having built and implemented, using best industry standards, "build and deployment" pipelines
* Scripting abilities using PowerShell, Cake or Python
* General understanding of Cloud technologies
* General understanding of Git
* Excellent understanding of development patterns
* General understanding of deployment patterns
* Experience using deployment software i.e. Octopus Deploy
* Experience with build pipelines
* General understanding of software development
* Ability to troubleshoot user problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required
