Technical Solutions Architect

I have a requirement for an experienced Technical Solutions Architect to work for an established client in the city of London.  As a Solutions Architect you shall be working as part of a team where you shall responsible for driving technology innovation and delivering pragmatic working solutions aligned with strategic goals of the business.

This is a great opportunity for a hand-on software/technical architect to help compose, design and implement solutions combining software components either built in-house or acquired in a hybrid application architectural landscape.

Skills/Experience required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
  • Proven attention to detail and the ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.

Technical Skills required

  • Extended knowledge of Microsoft Azure and most of the components offered by it
  • Experience providing solution based on Microsoft Azure to address usual architectural challenges (IDAM, Auth, persistence, availability, disaster recovery)
  • A keen eye to research for technologies and tools (proprietary or open-source) compatible with Peabody’s IT reality and find ways to improve the state by adopting them
  • Exposure to MS products/platforms/technologies and tools compatible with Peabody’s IT reality and find ways to improve the state by adopting them
  • Strong knowledge of architecture patterns and principals
  • Extensive and deep experience in designing and developing software using well established practices and Microsoft related technologies (e.g. MS visual Studio) including but not limited to

The desktop software you would be working on is Microsoft .NET based and developed using C#. The main application is WPF based utilising an SQL Server database and you would be using Microsoft Test Centre, Azure Dev Ops and YouTrack.

You would be expected to:

  • Testing & quality assurance of company software products predominantly desktop applications but occasional mobile and web based as well
  • Pre & post release, including the recreation of software issues, documentation of issue and post fix testing.
  • Preparation of release notes.
  • Creation, maintenance and development of testing, scripts and procedures.
  • Creation and maintenance of user, support and installation documentation.
  • Liaising with Development team to progress any software issues found and reported.

The ideal candidate for this role will be working within a testing role at the moment and if possible have an industry recognised qualification within software testing.

You will have:

  • At least 2 years industry experience as software tester.
  • Experience of working within a manual environment but any experience within automation would be beneficial.
  • The ability to write test scripts / plans
  • Experience of testing software within a .NET environment would be highly beneficial.

As you will be working within a team environment and liaising with the development team then your communications skills, both written and verbal, must be very strong.
