One of the most annoying elements of job seeking is wading through the constant drivel online, consisting of badly written job ads, uninspiring LinkedIn activity and recruiters who think Apache relates to a military-grade attack helicopter.
So I wanted to 'go against the grain' and write something short, snappy and hopefully interesting enough to make you want to apply. Let's see how that goes...
An innovative and progressive IT Consulting Firm in Leeds (5 minutes from the station) is looking to recruit a Principal DevOps Engineer to come in and act as the lead on a number of Cloud-focused transformation programs. The role will be hugely autonomous, with the opportunity to help shape their Cloud/DevOps strategy whilst also getting involved in delivery management and leadership.
The organisation in question are hugely successful, with a diverse set of customers (Financial Services, Banking, Utilities, Public Sector etc.) and a commitment to delivering E2E Cloud projects on an enterprise scale. Simply put... these guys know what a good technology division looks like and their long-term goal is to create a centre of excellence for Cloud & DevOps.
Sound like something you'd like to be involved in?
If the answer is a resounding 'yes' then read on...
Your responsibilities in this role would be varied, encompassing the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) with specific focus on the delivery of solutions and platforms using the latest Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) in a fully Agile environment, including Scrum, TDD and CI/CD.
As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you would be tasked with providing a high-level of technical leadership, getting involved in the line management of Engineers as well as E2E Cloud Architecture. Moreover, your role would invole hands on engineering using a range of core DevOps tools/technologies including containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher), CI (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity), cloud (AWS, Azure) and source control management (Git, SVN, Nexus).
In return, you would be joining an organisation that genuinely invests in its employees. They offer fully expensed certifications (think Cloud/DevOps), personal/tailored training budgets and the opportunity to attend some of the largest tech conferences globally (e.g. Dreamforce, Microsoft Ignite, AWS Re-Invent) fully free of charge! Moreover, the company offer flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely, so don't be put off by the word 'Consultancy!'.
