The selected candidate will join the CME Engineering and Execution team in Belfast as a Lead Business Analyst, initially supporting the CME POST-TRADE Services Team.

CME Belfast team is a high performing group of individuals that deliver on a broad range of functions including systems/business analysis, software development and quality assurance services.   

CME POST-TRADE Services is our strategic back office solution. This provides third party clearing and straight through processing solutions to customers, across all markets. Trades may be cleared through a range of third party vendors, in both US and Europe. Customers are provided capabilities to review and query trades executed through CME on a real-time basis, through both API's and a portal. The API supports differing formats through adapters including Restful FIXML, FIX 4.4,  Email and TOF. Customers then feed their own internal risk systems from the STP API functionality. CME STP is developed in Java, utilises a range of technologies, including Redis, MQ, Kafka, Oracle and the portal is HTML5/JavaScript based.

Ld IT Business Analyst acts as a primary interface w/ business & partners w/ the dev. teams to provide an integrated solution across domains. For a primary domain, s/he is responsible from the initial business request, impact analysis, & prioritization thru detailed analysis, design, & solution implementation. Often serving as analysis project lead on large projects or coach junior analysts.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Analysis Planning, Monitoring, and Communication: Responsible for driving the analysis planning, analysis approach, and requirements management. Often serves as a project lead. Contributes to a primary domain, while managing and delegating analysis work for other analysts on the project.
  • Detailed Analysis: Responsible for performing detailed analysis activities such as detailed requirements, user stories, interface specs, UI specs, and report specs. Often serves as a project lead. Contributes to a primary domain, while managing and delegating analysis work for other analysts on the project.
  • Elicitation: Responsible for leading the elicitation sessions, story-boarding, prototyping, and analysis. Often serves as a project lead. Provides direction to other analysts on the tools and techniques required for the project.

Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor's degree (with honours) or equivalent/better strongly preferred, but substantial relevant experience could substitute.
  • Significant experience in leading business or systems analysis efforts and/or teams, providing functional oversight to projects.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of SDLC methodologies; agile is a big advantage.
  • Ability to understand and absorb business & technology concepts quickly.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with customer facing applications (GUI'S, API's)
  • Performs tasks independently and effectively, meeting the stakeholder needs
  • Analyzes high priority action items, identifies next steps, commits to next steps
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of writing user stories and epic in a story-driven, agile environment.

FIX Connectivity Specialist

thinkFolio is a leading provider of portfolio modelling and management tools, compliance and trading functions for asset managers on the buy side. thinkFolio is used globally with the majority of clients currently in the UK.

Position summary

IHS Markit is making considerable investments in the thinkFolio product and is increasing the size of the thinkFolio team. With an expected expansion of the client base globally, additional resources are required, as part of the global thinkFolio team.

Following the launch of the thinkFolio FIX Network (tFN) in 2018 it is imperative that this has dedicated resources to run the operation. As this is a revenue stream in its own right it has been decided to resource this independently so that It is not affected by other strategies applied in the thinkFolio business unit.

FIX is an industry standard used within the financial sector for trade execution, post trade messaging & matching. Whilst it is a specialised area, it is widely used and therefore has a broad coverage. The use of FIX within the thinkFolio application does require detailed business knowledge of the trading process. It is considered that specific thinkFolio application knowledge, whilst useful is not imperative for the candidate.

This role may require some flexibility in work times.

Duties & Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for TFN
    • Responsibility for the thinkFolio FIX Network (tFN).
    • Ensuring all customer networks are monitored for issues. Expediting any problems
    • Expedite customers' requests according to SLAs, inclusive of onboard tFN requests
    • Working closing with AWS and Cloud engineering to provide solutions
  • Onboarding of new third-party integration FIX partners
    • Work with IHSM commercial and strategic alliances teams to provide pre-contract information to third-party integration prospects
    • Ownership of thinkFolio FIX interface specification and test case documentation
    • Ensure FIX third-parties conform to tF specification
    • Schedule FIX certification slots to conform third parties, resulting in project sign-off
    • Document certification test results, logs and update any existing necessary documentation
    • Work with dev to build out simulators, work with QA to automate test cases
    • Periodic re-certification of existing interface to confirm existing functionality and expand new functionality
  • Connectivity BAU work
    • Ownership of technical relationship with third-party FIX partners
    • Ownership of interfaces with legacy strategic FIX Partners
    • Work with internal Pre-Sales/Sales, Support, QA, Managed Service and Product teams to provide:
      • 2nd line support
      • Management of third-party FIX partner FIX lines, GUIs, TLS/SSL encryption files, mandatory upgrades
      • Manage any FIX changes delivered by Product team, notification of customers of any workflow changes
      • Monitoring of any test failures raised by the QA team and expediting resolution


Education and Experience

Required:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in financial sector, specifically within trading or transactional processing.
  • Experience of working with FIX preferred, but a broad understanding of trading and execution required
  • Direct experience of trading platforms, EMS's not a requirement, but would be an advantage.
  • Drive to be challenged with new technologies to be learned.
  • An understanding of investment management or trading is advantageous

As this is a revenue stream in its own right it has been decided to resource this independently so that It is not affected by other strategies applied in the thinkFolio business unit.

FIX is an industry standard used within the financial sector for trade execution, post trade messaging & matching. Whilst it is a specialised area, it is widely used and therefore has a broad coverage. The use of FIX within the thinkFolio application does require detailed business knowledge of the trading process. It is considered that specific thinkFolio application knowledge, whilst useful is not imperative for the candidate.

This role may require some flexibility in work times.

Duties & Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for TFN
    • Responsibility for the thinkFolio FIX Network (tFN).
    • Ensuring all customer networks are monitored for issues. Expediting any problems
    • Expedite customers' requests according to SLAs, inclusive of onboard tFN requests
    • Working closing with AWS and Cloud engineering to provide solutions
  • Onboarding of new third-party integration FIX partners
    • Work with IHSM commercial and strategic alliances teams to provide pre-contract information to third-party integration prospects
    • Ownership of thinkFolio FIX interface specification and test case documentation
    • Ensure FIX third-parties conform to tF specification
    • Schedule FIX certification slots to conform third parties, resulting in project sign-off
    • Document certification test results, logs and update any existing necessary documentation
    • Work with dev to build out simulators, work with QA to automate test cases
    • Periodic re-certification of existing interface to confirm existing functionality and expand new functionality
  • Connectivity BAU work
    • Ownership of technical relationship with third-party FIX partners
    • Ownership of interfaces with legacy strategic FIX Partners
    • Work with internal Pre-Sales/Sales, Support, QA, Managed Service and Product teams to provide:
      • 2nd line support
      • Management of third-party FIX partner FIX lines, GUIs, TLS/SSL encryption files, mandatory upgrades
      • Manage any FIX changes delivered by Product team, notification of customers of any workflow changes
      • Monitoring of any test failures raised by the QA team and expediting resolution


Education and Experience

Required:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in financial sector, specifically within trading or transactional processing.
  • Experience of working with FIX preferred, but a broad understanding of trading and execution required
  • Direct experience of trading platforms, EMS's not a requirement, but would be an advantage.
  • Drive to be challenged with new technologies to be learned.
  • An understanding of investment management or trading is advantageous

As a Senior C++ Developer you will work throughout the full development lifecycle to create scalable, fault tolerant and secure code.   • Manage code using version control systems.
  • Handle deployment of application and code library updates to application servers following company change management policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for applications owned by the team and act as point of contact for the team.
  • Research and resolve client-reported issues.
  • Analyse application performance, research performance issues, and optimize objects managed by the team.
