Your new role
Taking on a top-down approach, working in tandem with Senior Project Managers, you will review and assess our projects, identifying and resolving areas where our existing plans show failings or weaknesses. You will ensure that our projects take full advantage of current best-practice thinking, and resolve current or potential risks before their impact affects our objectives. You will have the opportunity to work on many unique and often life-changing projects, as well as facilitating and representing us with public engagements and events.

As the successful candidate, you will show experience in the control and support of technical projects working to PRINCE2 methodology. As the Project Manager you will be working with external clients, internal teams and stakeholders to deliver controlled and efficient implementation of new client solutions. It is critical that you have experience of working within financial services and / or within a consultancy environment.

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a range of IT and business change projects within a client facing environment. You will have the opportunity to deliver large projects, as well as working on smaller internal changes throughout the business.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience of the below:

  • A proven track record of successful project delivery in a client facing/consultancy environment
  • Experience of working with external clients
  • Previous experience working as a Project Manager in the Financial Services sector would be an advantage

Your new role
The IT Transformation Project Manager is required to oversee and lead the transition phase of this infrastructure transformation programme and will be responsible for the successful completion of the project as per the expected costs, schedule and benefits. As Project Manager you will control the project delivery for the Transformation phase, including schedule management, scope changes and budget whilst also coordinating the day-to-day activities of the project team from mobilisation through to final implementation. The programme will consist of migrating the current UK data centre from on premise facilities to a new partner data centre in an ‘as-is’ system state and will also include the upgrade of all legacy operating systems, applications and databases currently out of vendor support.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have strong experience of leading complex technical change programmes with multiple change elements and managing budgets more than £5m. You will have at least 3 years’ experience in managing third party suppliers and vendors within a delivery environment whilst holding demonstrable experience in the delivery of application migration as well as demonstrable success in influencing stakeholders to manage conflicting requirements, demands and priorities. A background in IT Service Delivery would be desirable as would the use of Google Suite. A relevant qualification in project/programme management is required (MSP, PMP, PRINCE2).
