City based trading firm is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to maintain, support and ensure the security of the global Cisco and Mellanox wired and wireless network infrastructure for business critical data feeds. You'll build, maintain and monitor low latency networks; perform network engineering and design for projects as well as BAU expansion; implement new services and work with external vendors to support the global WAN infrastructure. What you will be doing:

Key duties include:

- Engage with the client, in order to understand their overall requirements and advise how the system can best be configured to meet those requirements

- Works individually or within a team on technology business consulting projects to meet specific client requirements.

- Consults directly with the client, and will work with the client to configure and customize licensed modules and deliver training as required

- Acts as team leader for all aspects of consulting projects including leading sub-plans or projects. Will mentor, guide, advise and / or check work of less experienced business systems analysts and technology business consultants.

- Develop a thorough understanding of the fundamental modules within Front Arena

- Provide continual feedback to the project manager promptly highlighting any potential issues to allow a pro-active solution to be offered

- Responsible for identifying opportunities where additional services beyond the core implementation tasks may be offered, and work closely with your line management to pursue the opportunity

- Working with large-scale financial applications and configuring the code and database as required. This process will involve the coding of customised functionality and creation of ad-hoc code for database manipulation

What you bring:

- Awareness of the full IT project life cycle, from development through to testing and implementation to go live

- Programming experience in an OO language

- Experience in a software vendor, consultancy organisation or financial institution
