Test Analyst required by market leading financial services organisation based in Cardiff. As Test Analyst you will provide and execute software testing services across the organisation in accordance with the defined Group Test Framework and Software Delivery Life Cycle.

Key Accountabilities:

*Perform functional and non-functional testing (manual and automated where applicable) including planning, scripting, execution and progress reporting
*Develop close and collaborative relationships with Group teams, sharing knowledge and understanding leading to improved service and delivery to internal and external customers across the business
*Ensure that all testing is carried out in a standardised, professional and well-managed way by adhering to and ensuring adherence to the defined Group Test Framework and SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) across all test phases
*Make suggestions, contribute to, and support the implementation of key change initiatives in testing and across the business
*Identify, resolve and/or escalate risk/issues to the Test Lead/Test Team Leader/Group Test Manager/Project Manager in a timely manner to enable us to ensure the delivery of testing services to agreed time, quality and cost criteria
*Work supportively with team members and colleagues enable individual, team and group objectives to be met
*Take responsibility for your own development to ensure testing knowledge is developed, kept up to date with the department and industry changes and to support meeting your objectives

Skills and Experience:

*ISTQB Foundation qualification in testing or equivalent testing knowledge and experience
*A strong understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle
*Hands on experience of the end-to-end testing process including static analysis, test design, scripting, execution and defect management
*Experience in investigating and articulating complex issues to support informed decision making
*Experience of using workload management and testing tools
*Familiarity of different project delivery methodologies (eg Waterfall, Iterative)
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a passion for working in a highly collaborative environment
*Excellent analytical, numerical and literacy skills
*Be able to plan and manage workloads to ensure delivery to agreed timeframes
*Good coaching, training and inter-personal skills

Desirable:

*IT specific related Degree/Higher Education Qualification
*Knowledge of financial services products specifically Mortgages, Loans, Investments and Insurance.
*Knowledge of software applications and tools particularly JIRA and Zephyr Enterprise
*Experience of using automation testing tools particularly SoapUI and Selenium
*Experience of Performance Testing tools including J-Meter

This newly formed development team is looking to take on an additional 2 developers to reinvent this UK recognised brand’s web and mobile applications. This business is a household name in the automotive industry, benefiting from corporate scale benefits but keeping with the fast paced and flexible feel of a tech start up.

This is what you’ll be doing

You will be working on a number of Greenfield projects including completely rebuilding this companies internal CRM and redeveloping their mobile platform using React Native over the next couple of years.

Ideally you will be a strong junior/mid-level developer that has been using JavaScript/TypeScript for a couple of years. This is a very fast paced opportunity, keeping within the start-up mentality looking to launch 4 new apps in the next 6 months alone. Working completely agile and running regular sprints.

As a junior/mid-level it would be preferred to have ReactJS, NodeJS in a commercial environment however they are more than happy to consider Angular, VueJS as long as the candidate is willing to learn. If you’re more of a front end developer you must show the attitude to want to work with backend technologies. Good quality code is an absolute must, all developers are responsible for running their own automated testing.
