We are looking for an experienced software developer with strong PHP development knowledge to join our experienced team in Borehamwood on a permenant basis.

What you'll be doing

• Assessing changes defined in requirements specifications and help define technical approach
• To act as a hands-on developer to continue development and enhancement of core business platforms
• Dev-Test-Live environment management and issue resolution
• Writing maintainable, well written code
• Actively collaborate in team activities, e.g. design sessions, peer-code review
• To act as a hands-on developer to continue development of core business platforms.

What we'd need you to have

• Object Oriented PHP, preferably 7.
• Good experience with modern MVC framework, such as Zend Framework, Laravel, Symfony 3/4
• Ability to work with complex databases (MySql) solutions - understanding the role of indexing and the use of transactional programming.
• JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as Vue.js and jQuery
• Experience working within an Agile environment (SCRUM/XP)
• Modular CSS using SASS
• Experience of microservices desirable
• Java and Python knowledge desirable but not essential
• Solid Linux experience

Your role is to provide technical support to data team members and clients in the provision of solutions, assisting with all assigned data related activities. The role involves supporting with the importing, cleaning, transforming and validating data with the purpose of understanding and making conclusions to maximise success for our clients’ promotional campaigns.

The working hours are 08.45-17.15 Monday to Friday. The annual salary is £18,000 - £23,000 PA dependant on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform junior level data validation for our clients, to ensure they are consistent to the Terms and Conditions of our promotions.
• Provide Reports and Automation to our clients and our business.
• Checking ID, making sure information from clients is correct and accurate.
• Work with our Senior Projects and Planning Manager, in the day to day and future delivery of Data objectives for our clients and the business.
• Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools.
• Utilise backend data services and contribute to increase existing data services API.
• Refactor, optimize and improve the existing codebase for maintenance and scale.
• Use test driven development and acceptance tests to ensure feature quality.

Key Strengths:

Computer Literate - Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Advanced Excel skills are required.

Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.

Proficient in PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS - would be advantageous.

Basic knowledge MySql would be advantageous.

Knowledge of API's, such as twitter, Facebook, Google maps, Instagram, etc.

Programming Language - beneficial.

Customer Services

Understanding of security protocols and administration

Effective management of client data

Demonstrate advanced skills in process
