This highly prestigious start-up has found a very niche gap in the market and are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to help them build an automation platform incorporating the use of AI and machine learning techniques. This platform will ultimately save 100's of man hours and billions of dollars, making it a very attractive piece of software. This company is already being funding by a global bank and supply chain specialist. This opportunity is rare and will give you the chance to work within a vastly growing start-up, work with an incredible team with a combination of trade banking, prior start-up experience and a strong academic background from Imperial, Harvard and Cambridge universities, and an evolving role as they scale-up.

THE COMPANY:

With academic backgrounds across Harvard, Cambridge and Imperial, the talented co-founders have spotted a gap in the shipping market and are building an automation platform using AI and machine learning techniques, looking to save companies billions of dollars. They have also just raised their seed round from leading UK investors (Zoopla, Betfair, Shazam etc).

THE ROLE:

Your role working as a Full Stack Developer will involve building and maintaining their public-facing application. This includes building the application so that it is deeply connected to the ML components of the system and developing real-time frontend and backend services. Other responsibilities will include:

· Be a strong problem solver

· Be able to architect solid frontend components, including snapshot testing and integration testing

· Develop and maintain API's and data structures for ML-powered features

· Be comfortable using cloud-native libraries

· Work with the DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines and help manage the infrastructure

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

What your role as a Full Stack Developer will require:

· Comfortable developing user interfaces

· Extensive knowledge and experience of modern frontend development, using React

· Ability to build scalable APIs using Python

· Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

· Commercial experience with containerised tools like Docker and Kubernetes

THE BENEFITS:

The salary for your role as a Full Stack Developer is between £60,000-80,000.

A global consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Java Developer with strong knowledge of Java 8. You will be joining a leader in technology services and digital transformation.

The Role
Within this role, you will be a senior member of the engineering team bringing a mix of architecture skills, leadership as well as hands on development. As a hands on technologist, you will be involved in hands on delivery about 70% of the time.

Responsibilities
*Shape solutions & define architecture.
*Work on some of the most bleeding edge Digital / Cloud-based architectures in development today
*Use your wide range of skills such as an architect, technical lead, designer and developer on delivery engagements for clients with responsibility for the specification, development and leadership of implementation of complex multi-tier Applications
*Enhance existing applications due to changing customer needs and requirements
*Provide technical support for transition of the application into live service and support

Experience Required
*Excellent knowledge of Java, including Java 8 and core open source technologies and frameworks; experience of building scalable, resilient applications
*Experience of the core XP practices of TDD, Pair Programming, and Continuous Integration
*Demonstrable experience in one or more technology stacks, e.g. Spring (e.g. Core, MVC, Data, Boot/Cloud), Integration Technologies (Spring Integration, Apache Camel, REST, Messaging)
*Experience of working in collaborative teams
*Experience in pragmatic architecture, using just enough to get the job done.

Desirable experience of:
*Successfully delivering performant, scalable and long-transactional digital services in complex and highly regulatory environments
*Java 8 and dependency injection, building asynchronous microservices with RESTful APIs
*JAX-RS for REST APIs
*JMS
*NoSQL
*JavaScript frameworks (e.g. ReactJS, NodeJS)
*Automated testing with Junit and Mockito
*Designing microservice-based architectures using domain driven design (DDD) , CQRS and Event Sourcing patterns
*Containerisation technologies: Docker or Kubernetes
*Wiremock and other distributed-systems testing utilities
*Activiti or other JBPMN
*Rules Engine e.g. Drools
*JIRA / Confluence
*To be considered for this role, you must be able to go through SC Clearance.
