A world leading systematic trading hedge fund is looking for a junior/ graduate developer from a world leading university to join the Market data and feeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a market leading proprietary low-latency electronic trading infrastructure that connects the firm to the global markets, the team's main responsibilities include:

  • They are responsible for developing, conforming, deploying and supporting a large number of real-time market feeds from multiple exchanges and data vendors

  • The team is responsible for the reliable distribution of market data across the firm

  • They are the owners of the high performance order management systems and market gateways for order placement, involving bespoke protocol development and tools for real-time risk control, measurement and monitoring

    The individual responsibilities of the successful developer would be:

  • Monitoring of ~200 trading connections and ~350 market data processes

  • Monitoring archives of historic data (tick and trade)

  • Investigating outages and unexpected data

  • Developing new trading connections and market data feeds

  • Writing tools to aid investigations and allow other teams visibility on the low level messages sent to/received from counterparties.

  • Understanding various asset classes and methods of trading

  • Able to keep a cool head under pressure and act decisively to minimise impact of outages

  • Troubleshooting network problems

  • Troubleshooting general host problems (short of memory/paging, CPU-bound, running out of disk space etc.)

  • Understanding and maintaining pre-trade risk systems

  • Understanding and maintaining market abuse detection systems

    The ideal developer would have a strong educational background from a world leading university ideally in Computer Science or Scientific subject with significant exposure to programming. Desired skills would also include:

  • Strong understanding of the principles of OOA/D, data modelling, database design, data structures and algorithms.

  • Good knowledge of a primary OO language is essential C#

  • Experience with .net core or server side C# is essential

  • Strong mathematical foundations

  • Knowledge of FIX protocol preferable
