Your new company

This leading technology focused business are about to undergo significant headcount growth in their engineering team. As part of this expansion, they are seeking a number of experienced Engineers/Developers to work from their head office location in the heart of Dorset

The company are open to looking at Mid-Level and Senior applicants, given the exciting growth plans in store. However, you must have a strong grasp of C/C++, with Python & scripting languages (Bash/Perl/Shell) being a nice bonus.

You'll be joining a strong and talented Engineering team of 40, with a office headcount of circa 75. They work on a real variety of projects and are not silo'd when it comes to being able to work across the teams and the full software development life-cycle.

Your new role
You'll be joining an owner operated business that has been established for decades and has a strong reputation locally, with good staff retention rates. Once a developer joins this company, they love it! Their Head of Support Services has laser focused on implementing a fantastic relationship & team culture. The environment is rapidly changing and they champion Agile, so it is important that you are flexible and appreciate the nature of a business at the cutting edge of technology.

You'll be working to deliver a new suite of products, offering end to end services for clients , and expanding on the current projects they have now. A lot of the requirements are greenfield. The company control the systems that they build, meaning developers can be intrinsic with the user and understand their journey to build a better product. You will be working on enterprise level projects, but may have concurrent deliveries the team is tasked with. Fortunately, the company develop everything in-house, so quality is never compromised.

You will be expected to bring new ideas to the table in whatever guide you join, but at a Senior level, mentoring and leadership opportunities are also available in a more formalised manner. It's an internally creative team that champion collaboration. They want constant suggestions of how to re-engineer things, not just work from a brief.

What you'll need to succeed
The secure nature of the project work will require you to be 'Security Clearable', with the ability to be DV Cleared an added bonus. The company will take you through this, so do not be concerned if you do not already have this.

You must have strong core programming skills using C / C++ and some of the following other tech: Python, Bash, Perl and Shell.

Ideally you will have experience working in an Agile Linux/UNIX environment and have a good understanding of System Architecture philosophies. You'll be able to follow coding standards and apply best practice at all times and have a good understanding of RESTful services. You should also have an understanding of the methods of testing software and have an ability to write design documentation and understand the use of message sequence charts, specification and description languages (SDLs).

They are not looking for all the skills and recognise there will be a learning curve, but a willingness to embrace a broad, full stack role with wide responsibilities will be required.

What you'll get in return
You'll work for a technology focused company where work life balance is not an abstract concept. There is an excellent rewards scheme in place including private healthcare, 33 days holiday, generous pension scheme and long term sick cover. There is parking on site an they have progression plans that are revisited with staff regularly.

Salary is negotiable for the right candidate to around £60k. This is representative of the company's flexible approach to employment, nurturing talent and empowering developers/
