Security Engineer - Brilliant versatile role for a real techie, WAF, IPS, Azure, and Container Security - £85k

I'm looking for a very special technical engineer, with ability across Linux build and script and development, Some hands on in azure, maybe with experience of WAF, IDS, and containers! More than your pre-existing technical knowledge, you'll hopefully a problem solver, a thinker, and solutions oriented in the way you approach everything. Some experience in Linux scripting, complex builds and Virtualised environments will be your strong suit.

The role is one where a continuous integration approach is needed, as you create awesome solutions for complex problems creating strategy, tool kits, designs, architecture and take ownership for some awesome technical roll-outs and developments. It's a very technical environment, and you'll have a great time if you love working for progressive, technically driven organisations, where 'every time is better' than the last. Continuous improvement, and awesome solutions to complex problems are what you love to do.

You'll ideally have experience building and administering Linux based services (Firewalls, Webservers, IDS, VPN etc) and be comfortable with scripting ie Bash, Python, etc. Some experience with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Xen, VirtualBox) would also be very valuable.

Forward Role are working with a forward thinking, planning business in Manchester City Centre who are recruiting a Analytics Manager to joining a rapidly growing Analytics and Data Modelling team. The role is paying up to £74,000 and will be reporting in to the Head of Data.

The role will require a candidate with excellent leadership skills and technical ability.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading a team of technical analysts
  • Provide support with your technical expertise to the team and wider business
  • Ensure the delivery of reports are timely and accurate through developing an operational plan
  • Hand on analysis – working with multiple, complex data sources, providing insight and recommendations
  • Ensure data is being used effectively and efficiently for decision making purposes – trend based analysis
  • Run complex research programmes to drive organisation development – analysis of survey data
  • Project manage the development and designs of internal databases
  • Develop the team’s ability with statistical modelling and advanced analysis

Skills and experience:

  • 4+ years previous experience in a similar analytical and managerial/leadership role
  • Experience working with complex data sets
  • Experience working in the transport or planning industry is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Experience with programmes such as SQL, Python and GIs software is desirable but not essential

A leading Tech platform are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join their business in Battersea, London. Over the next year you will be involved in the design and development of a global AWS infrastructure and review the current CI/CD pipeline, to ensure they are fit for purpose and ensure these are in line with the business' strategy. Furthermore, you will build and maintain tools for deployment, monitor and manage the operations, as well as troubleshoot and resolve development, test and production environment issues.

You will collaborate with a global team ensuring the delivery of high quality code, scalable infrastructure and a reliable product/service.

Experience required for this role:

  • Large scale design and development of software
  • Knowledge of Microservices, messaging and distributed architecture
  • All round AWS knowledge - Computing, network, storage and databases
  • Puppet (or similar) maintenance, installation and configuration

Azure Architect / Azure Infrastructure Engineer required to be technical authority for the Azure Cloud environment of an international company based in central London.

You will be responsible for designing, managing, configuring and migration all aspects of their Azure cloud IaaS environment including Azure AD, Azure SQL, Azure Function & Logic applications.

Your background will include:

  • Proven Azure Architect or Azure Engineer experience including Virtual Machines, PowerBI, Azure SQL, Data Lakes, Data Analytics and Azure apps.
  • Experience in architecting and configuring Azure services and integrating into Azure AD.
  • Migrating on premise servers to Azure.
  • API & Microservices architecture knowledge - Mulesoft AnyPoint Platform or similar ideal.
  • Strong business experience - interpreting business needs ideally for Online & Digital Subscription Services.
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
  • VMware or Hyper-V, Application Gateways, Load Balancing, on-prem to Cloud migration, SQL.
  • Windows Servers, AD, DR, IIS, Clustering
  • Producing documents for Agile delivery
  • DevOps experience advantageous.

Working environment is open plan, business casual dress code and they work from home 1 or 2 days a week.
