A top hedge fund is hiring for a Senior Network SRE to join their New York City office to help bring Site Reliability Engineering practices to their financial trading network infrastructure using innovation and technology to reduce complexity and improve performance. In this role you will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of network infrastructure and related applications, improve automation, test for scale and improve disaster readiness, help manage risk, forecast demand and plan for capacity, monitor, configure, and troubleshoot routing, switching, and multicast, commission and decommission infrastructure, support production network infrastructure, evangelize the SRE mindset, and participate in incident response, postmortem and root-cause analysis.

Candidates must have at least 4 years’ experience as a Network SRE with experience maintaining large scale networks, a deep understanding of LAN, WAN, and Linux networking, proficiency in Python, Go, or Java, experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible or Ninja, experience in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco, Arista, F5), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering.

Experience with Virtual Networking such as VMware NSX, certifications such as CCIE or CCNP, an understanding of Linux OS, experience building and managing highly reliable large scale systems, and experience in the financial trading industry is highly advantageous.
