A client of mine based in Chelmsford are currently looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to join their innovative Tech team.

The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing all aspects of administration support for an ITIL based ticketing tool. They have put a real emphasis on experts in Index strategies and Performance Tuning, while knowledge of related tech such as Log Shipping, Always On and Replication would be a plus.

Some of the ticket tasks you'll be required to perform are clustering, recovery, break FIX, account administration in a shift based environment. Furthermore, as they are investing heavily into cloud technologies, experience with Azure is desirable.

They offer 2/3 days remote working a week also, and an On-Call shift scheme to earn extra.

This is an immediate requirement but they are able to wait for the right professional to join the team so please don't hesitate to apply.

IT Support Technician - Rugby - Permanent - £20,000 - £22,000 plus benefits

I currently have an exciting opportunity in Rugby for an experienced IT Support Professional to join this established, global manufacturing company.

Working as part of a small IT team you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line IT Support via telephone both remotely and onsite.

Your main role will involve supporting end users on computer and telephone operation ideally with a first-time FIX. You will be dealing with internal customers over the phone, email, messaging and face to face when required.

Your role will involve:
- Attempting first line FIX where possible
- Escalating issues when appropriate
- Identify areas of improvement in the IT function
- Logging support requests on the IT helpdesk and tracking through to closure
- Occasional travel to Southampton for onsite support (approximately 2 times a month)
- Building, fixing and upgrading hardware (including desktops, laptops, mobiles)
- User account management
- Ordering IT supplies and maintaining stock levels
- Support the telephone system configuration
- Support the company wide IT support back up system
- Support offsite (including international staff) with IT issues
- Assisting with upgrade projects
- Working within ITIL

To be suitable for this role you will have:
- Experience in a 1st Line IT Support in a small IT team ideally
- Ability to work independently
- Good working knowledge of Windows, OS & MS Office
- Experience of working with VPN
- Knowledge of mobiles, iPad and iPhone
- Experience of networking with TCPIP, Wlan, DNS, DHCP and patching
- Experience of Active Directory
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Ability to prioritise
- Experience of supporting Alcatel-Lucent telephone systems would be an advantage but not essential
- Experience with working with Microsoft Server 2012 would be an advantage but not required, any Microsoft server experience would be suitable

This role is based in Rugby with occasional travel to Southampton.

This is a permanent position Monday - Friday 37.5 hours a week.

Salary for this position is £20,000 - £22,000 plus benefits.

About the Role:

The post holder will be responsible for coding and posting of BACS remittances on a daily basis to the Sales Ledger finance system and the maintenance of cash allocations and reconciliations of accounts.

Work closely with the Credit Control team to maximise cash collection by ensuring that all accounts are fully reconciled and followed up on queries to make sure they are resolved in a timely manner and escalate issues where appropriate.

All un-allocated cash and over payments are managed and reported promptly.

Complete funder reconciliation using excel on a monthly basis.

Ensuring all data processed are accurate and of a high standard, follow the departments’ processes and procedures to validate information and obtain approval where concerned.

Essential requirement:

  • Ability to work meticulously and accurately when handling large quantities of data and pay attention to detail and identify errors in data.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Be able to prioritise effectively and manage time to ensure work is completed within deadlines
  • Flexible and friendly with a can do approach.
  • Advanced excel is a must.
  • Looking for someone with minimum 3 years’ experience in finance or sales ledger and is very good at reconciliation work.
