While you may come from an infrastructure background, you should be comfortable with writing scripts and basic software code to enhance and streamline your daily activities. They are currently using the following technologies (but this is evolving all the time):

AWS - CloudFormation, EC2/ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, Cognito etc

Our client is leading and long-established Fintech organisation who counts some of the worlds leading investment banks and hedge funds amongst their clients. Due to continued growth, the opportunity has arisen for a an additional senior OO Perl developer to join there team, you will be working on green field product development project in addition to the enhancement of existing systems and products.

The position is for a Software Developer working to develop, enhance, maintain and support the company’s hosted services. The applications delivering the services have an interactive user interface delivered as secure dynamic web pages over the Internet as well as a significant server based data processing components and behind-the-scenes data transfer systems.
Candidates are expected to work on all technical aspects of the system – designing and developing new services and features, enhancing functionality, integrating new financial institutions, resolving issues and providing technical support on a roster basis.

The roster is generally three months in the On-Client-Demand team, dealing with urgent requests, feature enhancements, integration of new financial institutions and managing Production, DR and Development environments. Pyramid8 are delighted to be working with our client to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer / IT Service Technician / IT Software Engineer / IT Field Engineer / IT Commissioning Engineer. Our client designs integrated end-to-end surveillance control systems for the world’s most demanding security environments. 

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for commissioning and servicing Synergy 3 systems, primarily in London and the South of England. Delivering highly technical and complex hardware and software solutions to a wide variety of customers, the role requires a high degree of flexibility and initiative in order to ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer experience and that the many and varied demands of the post are prioritised and dealt with efficiently.

This role is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The role shall be based out of London and the role provides a company car. Overtime rates are provided.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Managing the hardware and software delivery of integrated security systems to the customer base
•    Commissioning equipment on customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas
•    Investigating and resolving onsite faults
•    Assisting both the help desk and development support teams with ticket assistance and remote support investigations.
•    Carrying out Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
•    Training engineers, operators, supervisors and managers on the use of solutions
•    Working with the Technology Centre to test, validate and deliver third party software integrations Knowledge sharing with other engineers and engineering teams regarding specific technical information and skills learnt during the delivery of bespoke software solutions
•    Acting as an ambassador for our client and taking ownership of the customer experience throughout project completion 
•    Liaising with the sales team for system upgrades and other development opportunities 
•    Develop and maintain working relationships across the company to allow effective team working 
•    Producing technical documents, manuals, and risk and method statements when required. Completing site documentation, report paperwork, and time sheets on a daily/weekly basis.

Qualifications and Experience:

•    Degree in IT/Computing/IP networking desirable
•    Windows based operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016
•    Knowledge of IP video systems and CCTV installation
•    Microsoft qualifications (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP)
•    Database knowledge (DB2, SQL)
•    IP Networking (IP addressing, sub netting, routing, TCP,UDP, multicast)
•    Experience working in a client facing technical role
•    Experience of electronics/technology/security industries
•    CRB Clearance
