Progression of a novel technology project means that our team is expanding and we’re looking for a dynamic individual who will support the project and develop solutions according to feedback and market requirements.

Reporting to the Research and Development Project Manager and working closely with other B-hive team members, you’ll gain a variety of skills and learn new technologies.

You’ll work towards understanding end-user requirements, design interfaces & data visualisation tools, work with external suppliers, and analyse commercial data sets to inform decision making.

No experience in a commercial setting required, just a passion for web developing and the ambition to join a forward-thinking enterprise with a bight future ahead.

You’ll be educated to a-level standard (or equivalent) in a computer-based subject, you’ll understand front-end technologies like HTML, CSS & JavaScript, and you may have experience building your own personal projects. It would be beneficial for you to have knowledge of back-end technologies also. A full driving licence will be required. 

Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00, weekend cover may be required during the harvest season.

You will be responsible for:

o Providing technical leadership, steering technical decisions and provide mentoring for the developers

o Acting as a second in command to the DTL in all aspects

o The teams code quality measures, such as ensuring that adequate code reviews are being conducted, and that the team's technical standards (such as TDD) are being upheld.

o Providing support for the DTL in the day to day running of the team

o During absence, providing cover for the DTL in day to day running of the team

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

o At least 5 years' experience designing and building C# .NET applications

o Excellent knowledge and experience in design patterns and Object Orientated Design

o Good knowledge of relational database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server

o Good experience with CI tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops

o Experience with implementing automated testing platforms, e.g. SpecFlow, and unit tests

o An Interest in programming best practices

o Experience of working with service orientation and related technologies (SOAP, WCF, REST, etc.)

o Experience of the Agile software development lifecycle and working knowledge of SCRUM

o Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

o Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
