It’s shown to reduce isolation, improve community cohesion and to improve wellbeing for all involved. It is frequently cited as a leading social innovation by the government, mainstream press and leading think tanks. GoodGym’s impact and activity continues to grow and in this role you will play an important part in increasing our impact.

About the Role

GoodGym's digital volunteering platform enables all of our operations including onboarding new members, opportunity listing, communications and managing our work with older people.

  • You will be responsible for defining, implementing, documenting, and maintaining features on our platform
  • You will line manage the GoodGym technical team, which includes a UX designer and a web developer
  • You will be responsible for operating our systems and keeping the platform reliable, up to date and secure
  • You will be responsible for managing business processes relevant to the volunteering website, such as privacy and GDPR
  • You will help define and monitor KPIs to assess performance across the organisation

Essential skills and experience

  • You must have web programming skills, and ideally experience designing, developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails production web applications.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are able to work alongside people of all technical abilities
  • You believe in using automated tests for maintaining projects, and ideally have experience with test driven development
  • You are self-motivated and have a proactive mindset

Further details

  • £50k - £55k depending on experience.
  • Office located in Somerset House, Strand, London, but we can be flexible on location within the UK.
  • Flexible working hours including working from home.
  • Family-friendly policy.
  • Big social impact and dedicated team.
