Job Description

Due to continuing growth, we now have a requirement for a People Data Analyst to be based from our Head Office in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

Reporting to the People Analytics Manager, the People Data Analyst will be a key individual in ensuring the completeness, accuracy, connectivity & robustness of all HR & Facilities related data, as well as supporting the company-wide People Costs budgets and forecasts.

The successful candidate will be a driven individual with a can-do attitude, have a keen eye for detail, good problem solving skills, and a flexibility of thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production, maintenance and distribution of regular reporting;
  • Development of MI and identifying areas of insight;
  • Support the development and delivery of annual People Costs budget and quarterly forecasts working closely with business areas;
  • Identify key data risks, proposing mitigation and controls within the department;
  • Provide support and direction for colleagues in the rollout of new MI suites and dashboards;
  • Streamline processes / data within HR & Facilities to ensure efficiency and compliance;
  • Further automate existing manual reporting across all business areas;
  • Ad-hoc reporting required by the business.

Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or analytical role;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Highly proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proficient at queries, report writing and presenting findings;
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Highly organised, with a flexible approach to work, and the ability to multi-task effectively.

Candidates who are able to demonstrate the below will be given additional consideration:

  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Visual Basic (VBA);
  • Experience working with costs / financial information / budgets etc.

As a Data Modeler within our Data and Analytics function, you will play a pivotal role in technically delivering our data and analytical product alongside a talented multi-disciplinary team comprising of business and data analysts, ELT developers, customer insight teams, data scientists and BI developers. You will be passionate about working with data and ensuring we build products that exposes the value of that data.

  • Transforming complex business structures, processes and activities into technical solutions
  • Build out our data lake and transform our data into usable data views e.g. Target Data Model with a Single Customer view of the customer.
  • Design, build and support scalable, high performance data applications, repositories and data governance related applications
  • Contribute to the definition of data architecture standards and establish best practices for data management (including the handling of Personally Data)
  • Design and implement logical and physical data models across platforms
  • Manage equivalent, separate data sets across different development and staging environments as part of our release process
  • Seek out opportunities to propose new concepts and ideas in 'Big Data’ and expand existing platforms or leverage new technologies to meet more complex business needs
  • Help mentoring the more junior developers and analysts in data product development

Qualifications

  • Proven project experience in modelling and evolving complex data structures
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, concepts and best practices (e.g. ODS, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Kimball, Zachmann, TOGAF)
  • Solid experience of documentation ( Design documentation and Source to Target Mappings)
  • Strong SQL/ T-SQL / SSIS and data profiling skills
  • Previously worked on a "Big Data platform", enabling non-technical users to gain insight into key business metrics
  • Hands on experience with modern "Big Data" systems (e.g. Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory. Snowflake is a bonus)

Job Description

Provide insightful, actionable analyses through PowerBI dashboards, and reports, to impact our revenue, productivity, acquisition, attrition, operational efficiencies, cross-sell strategies, customer behavior, and segmentation.

You will be working within the Chief Data Officers team. The team is responsible for data across Rank brands globally. You will help develop strategic data solutions through reporting, BI and MI. Working alongside your peers - Data Analysts, Data Governance, Data Quality, Business Analysis and Program management.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • This role comes with a high rate of exposure to various parts of the business due to regular senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Works with existing and new technologies to shape the development of analytical insight delivery through PowerBI dashboards.
  • Translates customer, transactional and behavioural data into key insights and business deliverables.
  • Presents findings to key stakeholders, and inputs to negotiations on strategies to drive performance across the business.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to build data products that enable others to work with reporting effectively and inform decision-making that solve business problems with data.
  • Engage with Key stakeholders to develop key metrics to measure business performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified.
