They’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to maintain and improve their infrastructure. Their environment is focussed on Kubernetes, to build and test open source products for their existing production systems. They have a hybrid cloud environment, using AWS and GCP, but no cloud experience is necessary if you come from a good DevOps practices background.

Their current tech stack is below; however, you will be able to influence adoption of new technologies if successful:

  • Infrastructure is defined in code and automated using Terraform and Helm.
  • Portable, open server technology (Vagrant, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Nginx).
  • Open languages and frameworks (Node.js, Express, React, Redux, Webpack, SASS, Python).
  • Open-source continuous integration and testing (Selenium, Jenkins, Jest, Pytest).
  • Relational and document databases (Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch).
  • Monitoring, logging and metrics (New Relic and Loggly).
  • Messaging (SQS, RabbitMQ)

My Nottingham based client is currently looking for a talented Test Analyst to join their test and development team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience and exposure of working in both Waterfall and Agile environments. You’ll be working closely with the Senior Test Analyst in the team to create detailed test scripts and cases and ensure web applications are thoroughly examined before release.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Senior Test Analyst and Development team in an Agile environment
  • Create and execute detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Web application and cross browser testing
  • End-to-end across both the SLDC and STLC
  • Maintenance of automation suite
  • Always look to fine tune and improve quality testing processes
  • Raise and track all defects using Zephyr
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in working within an Agile environment

Oho are working with a government department based in Central London. A Senior DevOps Engineer is required to support the development of the design, strategy, execution and capability building of the DevOps function in a cloud platform development programme.

Reporting into the Programme’s Lead Technical Project Manager and Scrum Master. This is a minimum 12-month contract, outside IR35, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

What you will work on:

  • Reviewing and contributing to high-level architectural, security and service design artefacts.
  • Developing solutions from approved designs with focus on best practice and security.
  • Maintaining/managing tooling in cloud platform.
  • Documenting solutions built with LLD artefacts, alongside translating technical details and complexities with AWS cloud services, with view to obtaining accreditation.
  • Developing Cloud Solution reference architectures standards/best practice.
  • Developing/implementing DevOps processes; identifying efficiency savings.
  • Ensuring common understanding between different technical stakeholders.
  • Leading timely resolution of technical issues within delivery cycle.
  • Supporting development and mentoring of Junior technical resources within team.
  • Provision of some level 3 support of capabilities developed by programme.

Skills and Experience:

  • SC & NPPV3 Clearance.
  • Have a strong awareness of networking capability including: Direct Connect configuration, Routing, Firewalls, Security Groups and the respective configuration tasks in a secure cloud environment.
