They are now looking to expand their R&D team and are searching for an R&D Engineer / Technician to fill a new, challenging role, reporting directly to the director of R&D.

The Role

As the R&D Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • New software project management.
  • Development of new software products.
  • Pre-release testing and code walking.
  • Managing all aspects of code generation and associated documentation.
  • Liaising with high profile clients and reporting project developments to board level.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

As the R&D Engineer, you’ll be:

  • Experienced in MS Visual Studio / MFC C++ Development.
  • Experienced to an advanced level in MS Office.
  • Experienced in working in a similar R&D / software team environment.
  • Knowledgeable in embedded systems and have the ability to solder.
  • Experience in embedded RTOS / Micro-controller firmware is advantageous.
  • Experience in mechanical, optical and electronics is advantageous.
  • Component level electronics experience at PCB level is advantageous.

I am currently working with a dynamic and growing organisation based in Colchester who are looking to bring on-board a IT support officer into their experienced IT department.

Your new role
In your new role you will find yourself primarily responsible for the support and maintenance of the IT systems that are used to deliver the organisations products and services. You will work within the IT team to support the business systems, responding to internal and external user support requests seeing them through to final resolution.

Provide day to day desktop support both software and hardware, both onsite and remotely taking technical ownership of issues raised, providing analysis and identification of each issue and seeing them through to resolution. you will also see yourself proactively identify and recommending IT systems improvements ensuring the efficiency, productivity and workflow of the business processes.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role your previous experience in a similar 2nd or 3rd line position, supporting IT systems and users will be essential in this role. Having substantial knowledge and experience of supporting Microsoft Office 365 and experience of supporting, deploying and updating Microsoft Windows OS both Desktop and Server.

Also your knowledge of cloud file and collaboration platforms, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points and network related equipment will all lead to your success in this role.
