About the role:

We are looking for a Junior/Graduate Software Developer to join an experienced development team at a growing SaaS company based in Lancaster. With the training provided and the experience from other developers, you will be able to develop your skills from an Agile approach to developments, testing and maintenance.

You must have programming experience in the C# and .NET framework, experience with working knowledge of JavaScript and SQL. If you have working knowledge of jQuery and a degree in either Computer Science or Software Engineering then this will prove to be key in delivering customer objectives.

Key Skills:

• C#/.NET framework
• NET / MVC
• JavaScript
• Working knowledge of SQL Server
• HMTL/CSS

Desirable:

• Graduate in Computer Science/Software Engineering
• jQuery
• Experience of Selenium and XML
• Microsoft Visual Studio

The roles of responsibilities of the role include developing and maintaining the core product of the company, as well as taking part in the Agile approach to development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Migration to .NET core
• Implementing a new Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) software
• Developing and testing MVC web applications
• Maintaining and developing software of the core product
• Taking part in Agile approach to development

Senior QA - 80k

This is your chance to join a company in the Real Estate sector, who have created a unique platform for tradespeople and landlords alike to communicate.

• As the Senior QA all decisions on the testing function will come to you so it is your chance to shape things as you see fit
• This is one of the latest sectors set to explode into life
• And with flexible working options

You are being brought on board as currently the testing function is outsourced and the idea is to bring that all in house. You will be reporting directly into the head of engineering, so this is a senior role within the engineering team and there is a large amount of autonomy in the role as you will be looked to as a voice of expertise. This will be mostly automation but also expect to get involved in manual testing too. This will be testing things like payments systems, database, booking systems, search algorithms and much more. Goes without saying the growth of the platform is directly linked to the talents of the engineering team, so the work you will be doing to grow and support the wider testing function is extremely important.

In terms of tech stack these guys use its mostly python & Django (Django rest framework), as well as React.js, alt.js, node.js and Kubernets, AWS & docker.

Ideally I'm looking to speak with people with experience in Python automation, but there is some flexibility on this - for example if you are a senior QA who has helped bring outsourced functions in house but used a different language I'd be keen to hear from you.

They've been around a few years now so you aren't joining a company at its infancy, that said it is still the earlier stages. Please don't runaway with the idea that QA and testing has been an afterthought or pushed to the bottom of the list up to this point - there are operational reasons why its been outsourced, but now they have reached the stage where to continue to grow and scale a dedicated in house testing function is essential.

Requirements

• Automation experience (ideally Python)
• Standard tools such as Selenium etc. if you have pytest or pycharm that will be helpful too

One of my clients', who work in the financial industry, is looking for an experienced West Test Analyst to join their testing team as they embark on a large transformation project. You will be involved in the change of a core business platform from a legacy system to a new software product.

Key Skills / Responsibilities

You will have experience of working as a tester in a scrum environment and will have been involved in all levels of testing including system, integration and UAT.

Previous experience of working in test automation using Selenium web drive, Cucumber / Gherkin is necessary along with experience in the use of JIRA.

A full life cycle background in testing is required including creating and executing tests and reporting defects and bugs to the relevant teams. Then re-running test scripts once defects have been resolved.

You must have a background in migration using GuideWire along with working in the Insurance or financial industry.
