You will be joining a fast-growing team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and other analytics professionals. You will be an experienced analytics professional looking to lead, develop and mentor your team and look to implement cutting edge solutions and technologies to combat real business problems.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience in a range of these areas:

• Proven track record of embedding data science solutions in a commercial context.
• Ability to explain and articulate technical concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Proficiency in using Python, R and other relevant programming languages
• Experience of working with GLMs, decision trees, GBMs, Bayesian statistics, SVMs, clustering, NLP/NLG, time-series modelling and other relevant techniques
• Experience of working with cloud infrastructure preferred
• Significant hands-on experience of working on long term modelling projects involving multiple programming languages, complex datasets & multiple systems.
• Strong team player who is able to work with people and deliver on projects by taking ownership
• Understanding of statistical and machines learning applications for general insurance.
• Insurance or financial industry knowledge preferred

They are looking for a number .Net specialists who have a solid understanding of the Full Stack and working in cloud environments. They are looking for both mid-weight and senior specialists in this area to join their team.

Do you have the following attributes?

• C# and .NET development skills
• Experience developing digital applications in a cloud environment (preferable Azure)
• Experience with test driven development, version-controlled environments (ideally BitBucket, Git) and continuous integration methodology and tools
• Good understanding of web security and application security
• Good understanding of design and architecture patterns and development principles
• Good understanding of application containers and microservices
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Understanding of core front-end web technologies including HTML5/CSS, Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, Bootstrap
• API design and development experience

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and bleeding edge development team within a growing London Market insurance business and be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of innovative software and processes primarily in support of the company's actuarial function.

The successful candidate will work directly with both the development and actuarial teams and must therefore be able to effectively communicate and work with both groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Development of the proprietary risk management platform, with a focus on the back-end calculation engine.
• Implementation of insurance catastrophe risk models.
• Designing and developing robust tools and reports.
• Liaising with actuarial and risk teams to thoroughly understand user requirements, demonstrating a continual focus on long term effectiveness, simplicity of solutions, and appropriate controls.
• Effective documentation in order to mitigate business risks including key man dependencies.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• University Degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to grasp complex mathematical concepts; numerical methods, linear algebra, statistics, algorithms
• At least 2 years high performance computing / programming experience
• Experience with Julia, SQL preferred or C++, MATLAB and Python
• Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development team environment
• Experience of working within the London Market insurance industry
