UCL is London’s Global University, delivering outstanding education and world changing research. The Office of Vice Provost – Advancement (OVPA) supports this mission by forging relationships with alumni and donors to provide funding and support for the university.

This hands-on role covers a broad range of activities and will particularly suit someone with a strong data and database related technical skill set as well as experience of successful project delivery. You will setup, manage and deliver projects related to data and database systems, and be an expert and advocate for our suite of CRM related systems and champion data-driven decision making across the office.

You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the operational and strategic needs of OVPA in relation to data and systems. You will start projects: identifying key stakeholders, agreeing project methodology, scope and benefit. You will also allocate work packages to project team members.

The post-holder will have experience of successfully delivering projects through the full project cycle in a data or database context, working with large relational database systems such as CRMs. The successful candidate will have the ability or a demonstrable aptitude to acquire and develop technical skills related to relational databases and CRM development particularly: SQL, XML, Visual Studio, SQL Server Integration Services, HTML.

Barclays UK Tech function, has a Clearing Hub division which is the corner stone of clearing by image. This is an initiative to allow images of cheques to be a legal instrument for paying people. This removes the need for paper to be transported by secure vehicles on the road between branches and the central clearing centre. A further benefit in using mobile image capture is to allow customers a new channel for recording cheque payments.


As a Software Application Designer, you will take ownership over requirements gathering, building business requirements into technical requirements. Ensure the design works end to end and then build out design details so a developer could follow it through.


This role would be great for a Java Developer who is looking to move more into a design role, and have significant contact with business / product owners, working closely with stakeholders to successfully deliver on business requirements.


What will you be doing?


• Validate requirements and discuss with product / business owners
• Participate in impact assessments for new work
• Review requirements to understand how both functional and non-functional aspects need to be met

Market Risk Technology is a cross-asset group recently created within the Investment Bank, comprised of over 2,000 people in 15 countries. Our objective is to consolidate, streamline and simplify the generation, analysis and visualisation of Risk within the Investment Bank onto strategic, cross-asset platforms. The migration from a legacy, siloed, asset class specific environment to a shared, cross-asset, platform is a complex one and we’re running that work as a programme. 


As a Senior Developer, you’ll be capturing the requirements and design, build & deliver risk and stress reporting systems focusing on C#.


What will you be doing?


Writing code to specification for one or more applications / products during the build phase of the software development lifecycle focusing on C#
Testing the code thoroughly and liaise with business users to ensure delivery is fit for purpose
Working directly with stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements both near-term and strategic
