A well-funded and rapidly growing fintech start-up is looking for a number of Sales Engineers to join their team in London (City). They have built a platform that brings together disparate sources of data into a central source, drastically improving the efficiency around how investment managers, vendors and custodians interact.

This game-changing product has already caught the attention of a number of high-profile customers and investors and they are on course for another stellar year in 2020.

The role

  • Sitting between sales, product and engineering – your role is to support the sales process using a mixture of product and technical skills
  • Product demonstrations, answering technical queries, live coding sessions with customers
  • Understanding what clients need from the product and communicating these to the product team to see if they should be included in the product roadmap
  • Using your strong C#, Python or Java skills and the relevant SDK to create solutions for customers in real-time to show how flexible and capable the platform is
  • Support the sales team with ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements

  • This role has two key criteria – good coding skills in one of the following languages – C#, Python or Java and excellent client facing and presentation skills. This would suit a developer that wants to be client facing or someone with a sales engineering / pre-sales background that can code
  • Knowledge of investment management systems and the investment cycle would be nice but can be taught
  • The role will be diverse in the tasks you will undertake and candidates should be willing to embrace a challenge and relish the chance to solve new problems on a daily basis

Harrington Starr is currently working with a leading hedge fund looking for a C# server-side developer to work on and enhance their pricing library as well as code for running the library in a distributed manner. Work may include derivatives on FX, interest rates, equities, credit or commodities.

The pricing library will at first provide risk, P&L and what-if scenario analysis; later this will be expanded to back testing, screening etc.

It represents an excellent opportunity for a developer to learn more about derivatives and distributed computing whilst working in a dynamic and intellectually challenging environment.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Essential:

  • Experience of working with Quant Analysts.

Preferable:

  • Experience of working with traders.
  • Experience supporting a live production environment.
  • A solid understanding of best practices in software development, testing and release procedures.

TECHNICAL SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • Strong programming skills in C#.

  • SQL, AWS or experience with any cloud provider, messaging platforms, serialisation.

The Senior Test Analyst is responsible for the creation and execution of all forms of software testing throughout the agile development lifecycle of revenue, online, and corporate systems. The role holder provides expertise to ensure that the software produced meets the quality expectations of stakeholders and standards expected by the client.

The key accountabilities for the role are:

  • Work with Technology Development and stakeholders to ensure all software is tested to the right level under the guidance of the senior test member using Agile practices
  • Create test cases and execute the test strategy using predefined testing methodologies, ensuring that there is traceability between the testing implementation and the requirements / acceptance criteria
  • Ensuring that automated test activities are conducted in preference to manual testing where feasible and more efficient
  • Ensure that all application & technology testing is carried out in accordance with testing standards defined in the strategy
  • Create and execute manual, automation or non-functional test cases and ensure that test status, risks and issues are reported in a timely manner using the agreed reporting standard
  • Create, validate and report defects in accordance with the defect life cycle documented in the Test Strategy
  • Analyse Non-Functional requirements and liaise with Architects and provide inputs to the Non-functional test strategy
  • Working with 3rd parties to provide or give Test Assurance on TfL or 3rd party deliverable
